While this is true, what it misses may not be obvious. How the story ends depends on what is in the chapters that you must write. As we learned from the Matrix, it all comes down to choices and the consequences of those choices. Take the blue pill and do one thing, or take the red pill and do something else. Take the road often traveled or the road less traveled.

What makes this so cool is that- Jake KNEW Rango took the bullet from his gun, his eyes followed Rango's hands. I feel like Jake somehow knew he could've said something about it but rather wanted to keep it a secret from John because he was curious to what Rango was going to do. Think about it, right now would've been the PERFECT time for Jake to just laugh or at least give a snicker or a smile at Rango's surrender, but no, he widened his eyes and watched the sherrif hand in his gun but still have a bullet hidden, which at any point he could've snitched it off. Even when Rango gets locked in, Jake doesn't seem cocky or smiling like he would whenever he watched or even tried to kill someone, he seemed like he was on his guards, wanting to see what this new version of Rango would prepare this time. And in the end, Jake's curiosity paid off as that's what saved him from being shot by John. You can call Jake an a-hole, sure, but he does demonstrate some sort of western honor

i gotta say, making a rattlesnake with a minigun went so much ahrder than if it was just another gunslinger like rango, god i love this movie.

I love how jake turns on the mayor not because he betrayed him but because he did cheat Rango into yielding. Like duude thats what cowards do and Jake ain't gonna win like a coward

Jake I think accepted that he had been beat and was legitimately upset that their duel was interrupted by an interloper
