New Fish Tank Setup: First 100 Days

First 100 days of my new fish tank setup. I did restart this setup as i had to take out all the roots from my first try (previous video). They smelled really bad so i decided to take most of them out and go with black gravel instead of sand.

Du musst deinen Pflanzen auch ausreichend Licht bieten. Durch die Zugabe der Huminstoffe schwächst du die Lichtstärke obendrein! CO2- und Eisendünger wären eventuell auch anzuraten .. Da du auch wenig Fische eingesetzt hast für die Größe des Beckens, solltest du auch einen Komplettdünger verwenden, also einen Dünger mit Makrostoffen, wie Phosphor und Stickstoff. Die Echis hatten ja schon Wurzeln geschoben. Du musst auch Geduld haben, denn sie müssen sich erst umstellen von der emersen zur submersen Kultur! 😉

So pretty!! When you mentioned the plants not growing, i was surprised by how much their roots did grow compared the the leaves. Plants either grow or don't grow in aquariums 🤷🏽‍♀️ they're silly like that lol i think the final plants looked the best of all 😊

thank you 😊 well the echinodorus did grow but not fast enough. they had one leaf every week but i just didn't want to look at an empty tank for many more months... i was probably just impatient. surprisingly the egeria densa had problems and didn't grow... normally it's a super easy plant... but as you wrote. you never know with plants haha. but i'm happy with the jungle val now! 😊

Hi. If your plants doesn’t grow, you should definitely try dosing some liquid fertilizer. I’m sure it will boost the growth. It worked for me. Good luck

Finally. What Will be The next specie of fish? In such a huge tank u could get some discus cuz they are acidic water fish. Angelfish maybe? :P I think u should add a pleco in there. Like u said months ago, some corys would look nice, like about 15 of them. A nice shoal on The bottom

honestly i don't know at the moment. i kind of took a break with adding fish and will think about new fish when plants are growing as planned. i really do love discus but honestly i do not want fish which need 28-30c° water temperature. trying to keep the electricity bill low. especially now that there could be a shortage during winter. but i also sometimes think if it was the right choice to go with the tetras... i was also thinking of doing a tiger barb tank and then decided for the tetras. yes and just to close this topic. my dream is still owning an oscar fish one day. 😃

hi diane 👋 thanks a lot. it took a while to look like a complete tank 😄 echinodorus was groing but super slow. the egeria densa struggled. plants are funny sometimes. what plants did you go with? and i have not decided regarding new fish. would love to have a bigger center piece fish but no idea with what i should go. i first wanted the plants to grow before adding new fish 😃

@@freshwatertanks Hi we went with cryptocoryn usteriana & wendtii also Anubias but that really struggled plus the mascara barbs constantly nibbling them didn't help so have taken them out, but needs plants. Your choices for fish are endless any ideas 👍😊

ah i love crypts 😊 cryptocoryne crispatula are my favorits... and i really don't know regarding new fish... i think i don't have that many choices. angel fish would be a possibility.

I had jungle Vals in gravel no root tabs and they took over the tank in a few months. They grew so fast I had to completely remove them.

there were two huge internal filter in the back on each corner. air pumps are not really needed as long there is enough surface water movement. i don‘t have the tank anymore though…

it's from a well known aquarium builder here in switzerland but i would not really recommend him. only had problems and i'm also not really happy with this tank and the quality. got a big refund but yeah still not happy. i'm trying to accept it now 😃

Leider zu schnell die Fische eingesetzt, Einlaufzeit Drei Wochen, viel mehr pflanzen, und dann Geduld, Wasser wechseln am Anfang jede Woche dann alle zwei Wochen, guter Rat, habe über zwanzig Jahre Aquarien 💪🏻😅🐟🐳🐠

Die Filter habe ich sicher 3 Monate eingefahren. Es war also kein Neustart in dem Sinn 😃 Das Becken war vorher mit Sand befüllt und ohne Fische. Musste relativ lange das Becken ohne Fische laufen lassen, da ich Probleme mit dem Aquariumglas hatte. Das Becken hätte eigentlich ausgetauscht werden sollen, was dann leider nicht geklappt hat. Hab stattdessen eine Gutschrift vom Aquarienbauer erhalten und dann eben mit neuem Kies laufen lassen. In der Zwischenzeit hab ich das Becken auch gar nicht mehr. Sehr unzufriedenstellende Geschichte.... Lg
