Ao3 is the biggest fanfic website, and both the Once-ler and Jack are very 'fanfic sexy'. The Once-ler was actually the single biggest Tumblr Sexyman for quite a few years, with there being many thousands of pieces of written and drawn erotic content around him - often depicting him with alternate universe versions of himself (very similar to the shipping culture around Sans, though obviously much less extensive). At this point, the Once-ler is generally primarily thought of only as a sex symbol online, rather than the original point of his character.

When the Once-ler says "So I'm figgering that I'll keep biggering..." Biggering was the song that was supposed to be the one the Once-ler used, instead of 'How bad can I possibly be', later, Biggering was scrapped, and replaced, by "How bad can I possibly be." And in the books, the Once-ler never shows his face, and we never see it, but that was changed in the movie.

I think the Dr. Seuss line is just saying how greed was a human disease that even the book couldn’t prevent. It also might be a play on the fact that the authors name is Dr. Seuss, even though he’s not a doctor

Probably Jack, while Once-ler was just talking Skellington in to that he's no better than him, Jack was giving him reality checks after reality checks each bar and yet managed to even address his own author that couldn't fix his mistakes himself if he wanted to. Lets remember that TNBC movie's moral was about love and peace, and while LORAX had the exact same moral Once-ler couldn't prevent what he did, therefore automatically resulting in his loss
