I love how the intro acknowledges the Once-ler's past with Tumblr Sexyman culture. For those unaware, the Once-ler was actually the single biggest Tumblr Sexyman for quite a few years, with there being many thousands of pieces of written and drawn erotic content around him - often depicting him with alternate universe versions of himself (very similar to the shipping culture around Sans, though obviously much less extensive). At this point the Once-ler is generally primarily thought of only as a sex symbol online rather than the original point of his character, so I think it's fun that the video played off of that.

The residents of Halloween Town (who werent Sally) all mistook his name to be "Sandy Claws," which was meant to show how they misunderstood what they were doing. By referencing back to that, the Onceler is kinda telling Jack that he doesnt know what he is talking about

When he says "If you could go over their heads, why can't I?" was saying how the point of making The Once-ler in the original story faceless--saying anyone can become Once-ler--was either ignored or unnoticed by Universal when they gave him a face.

7:45 I’m not entirely sure, but I think the Hollowing was supposed to sound like Halloween town, which is the town that jack is from and that his movie was set in. Jacks saying for once let to go back to his “hollowing” by continuing to cut down all the trees and hollow out the environment

The Oncler was butchered as a character in the Lorax movie. The idea of the book version was that he represented a company, he had no face and many like him come to further develop the Thneed business while the Lorax tries to stop them with the Onceler only giving fake promises, half platitudes and excuses in return since it’s ultimately impossible to argue morals with a company’s as they’re unfeeling. They did the worse thing possible to the Onceler in the movie which was to give him a face, a person to blame instead of it being the companies fault which give the idea that there’s always a singular person to blame instead of a power hungry greedy conglomerate. They try to make you sympathize with the company (Onceler), while the books shows the reality behind a company as it’s a mass of people behind it which effectively makes it emotionless to the effects it’s causing as long as people are buying the product then they have no reason to improve on themselves.
