The Maxwell Renderer, but I just cut the lens and light in half with a plane. It’s not a volumetric effect. It’s caustics on a plane.

@@digitalArtform thank you. Would this software be able to simulate a curved fresnel lens? Interested in using one for a concentrator for solar power, and curving one improves the efficiency

@@legendahistory4262 using a curved fresnel lens with the smooth side towards sun increases efficiency because of dirt. If you slice a fresnel lens "backwards" you get the smooth convex side out and concentric rings inside, I think this is best for a solar concentrator

I got a fresnel lens off a Mole Richardson Type 407 Light that fits on a standard 7" reflector for my Hensel lights that I've used as a pseudo fresnel light. The only problem is, because the lens distance from the flash tube is fixed, I can't tighten or widen the beam like I could with an actual fresnel light. Still, gives a decent look. Hey bud, I don't know if you remember or not, but there was a lecture you posted in the Model Mayhem forums a number of years ago on color theory. It was really quiet so you had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it. Do you know what I'm talking about? I downloaded it but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I don't remember but I may have deleted it by mistake.
