The first one is fine if something like that happens even if her friends told her the truth and u didn’t chances are they also tell her about all the good things as well and the fact that we worked it out and u forgave the guy or the family keep the secret and spare her going through it again. But when someone loses their memory like that it’s not the same person. A person can’t have attachment to feelings they never felt or experiences they never experienced. Because even tho it was the same physical being before and after it’s not the same person. Chances are even if you told her she’d have nothing to feel you can’t feel sad about something you can’t remember happening. So telling her or not telling her either way it has the same effect. So the guy in this situation probably did what he felt was best or what he could live with.

Number One - No point in telling her. Its the same as even if she did not have amnesia and you cheated, you do not go on reminding her that you cheated. If you cheated and before you could tell her she got amnesia or if she had not forgiven you then morally you should tell her, else there is no point. Number Two - Just weird. Number Three - If the woman, after I made a split decision to save her life, gives me a single instance of blame for what I did, then she can get tf out of my life. I'll kick her out of my life myself, no need to wait for the divorce.
@grantlong7583Ай бұрын
For the first one will you try to get everyone else who knows about it to lie to her as well and not tell her? And what will you do if one of them does remind her and then your relationship is screwed cause you’ve lied and never brought it up again
@ErikshanАй бұрын
@@grantlong7583 That was never the point of the question. If she will somehow know regardless you tell her or not then the question does not even make sense. The implication is she will not know if you will not tell her.
@grantlong7583Ай бұрын
@@Erikshan no the implication is YOU not telling her, not she doesn’t find out. The question asks whether it is morally right or wrong for you to tell her it does not imply that. And either way it is wrong because you will lie to your partner for the rest of your lives together, but if your willing to lie to your partner for something as big as that then I bet your relationship won’t last long anyway
@ErikshanАй бұрын
@@grantlong7583 Then by your own logic, your entire first comment is pointless. Where was it implied that other people know about the cheating? Where was it implied that you will try to tell others to lie to her? Where was it implied that other people will tell her regardless you tell her or not? If other people will tell her regardless then asking that question makes 0 sense because she will know regardless whether you say it or not. This is why common sense is not so common nowadays, because people need to be spoon-fed everything. And regarding lying to partner, then by your own logic, people need to remind anything that their partner forgets from time to time. So even if she has not got amnesia, if she forgot about the cheating you did 5 years ago, make sure you bring it up again so that you are not lying to her.
@grantlong7583Ай бұрын
@@Erikshan the entire question is whether it is morally right to tell her or not. I already said this but I’ll reiterate since you obviously didn’t understand, the entire question in the video is about whether it is morally right to tell her or not if you were in that situation. I don’t know about you but when I am asked a hypothetical situation I like for it to be logical and the people in the situation to be logical, so I added common sense to the question you just struggle to understand it. And no if they forgot it over time then they forgot it because they forgave me and got over it. That’s not lying because you already told them, I’m not sure what your definition of lying is but if I told someone something then I’m not lying, but it is lying if I don’t tell them about it which is what is happening in your instance. My comment said nothing about “when” she is told by someone else, but what if, because using common sense leads to that as something that could happen in this situation if you lie to her. Again, because you don’t seem to understand simple words I’ll explain this again. The question is about whether it is morally right or wrong, and you are saying that you think it is morally right to lie to your girlfriend for the entire rest of your lives together. I brought up the situation with others telling her because it shows your flawed logic about why it’s right to tell her, sorry your ‘common sense’ isn’t good enough to understand that

men, like women, are humans and are very emotional, the reason they don’t see themselves as emotional beings is because they convinced themselves that anger isn’t an emotional response and/or they push down their true emotions, that they bottle up to ultimately explode they are unable to see issues as nuanced situations and instead of using empathy they hide behind what they deem as a ‘logical response’, masking their emotions that they either lack or don’t show for fear of being vulnerable you can’t have morals without empathy and it is certainly not logical to dismiss emotions, human beings are complex creatures with as many differences as similarities and that’s a good thing people don’t operate in black and white
