I’m 66 years old . When I first heard this song I thought it was so hauntingly beautiful. This past Mothers Day (2024) I came home sad, missing my mom as I Always do. I listened to this song agiain, I really listened to the words and I realized I’ve been trying to be so strong in dealing with her loss, I had the hardest cry I’ve had in many years. My mother died 51 years ago, she was only 38 years old. I was only 15 years old when she died. It’s been 51 very, very long years of missing her. I think if I were to hear this literally on the way home after my dad passed, I wouldn’t be able to keep it together! It’s so hard, isn’t it? They’re watching over us. I buried my mother with my brother, she come to see my family on the train.. i sang birdy "wings" at her funeral then played this on the way out.. six weeks after thst my fsther survived a horrific crash into his moterbike.. lost his leg, had his shoulder crushed and now has cancer.. im holding on as tight as i can.. i lost my only brother too, he was 33 ... i arranged his funeral my mam is buried with her son.. but this song is so lovely we used to run aling the platform when she was leaving to go home... there are angels and everything happens for a reason.. be positive as you can.. and try to give a held out arm to as many as you can thst need it xxx
