Slipper Satin is a nice white but School House White I prefer personally. They're both similar but School house doesn't have the yellow undertone that slipper satin has so gives a nice chalky white look without looking too creamy. It's also in the same family as drop cloth, shaded white and shadow white so work well together. Otherwise all white is a bright chalky white thay goes with anything. I noticed you had the colour chart that comes from b&q or homebase which have printed colours on. I would highly recommend our other colour chart which have the painted chips inside, this will give you a closer representation of the colour. There's a showroom in Wilmslow that will have them available. Then the sample pots painted out onto larger pieces of card or paper work best so you can move them round the room in different lighting. ❤

We have the wool carpet everywhere in our property and it’s the best investment we ever made. I would highly recommend this. It’s so hard wearing and we have a large dog and never had any issues regarding “loop holes” ( plus she does zoomies all the time and never damaged the carpet). 100% never get plush carpet on high traffic walkways / stairs as it never wears well and gets ruined very quickly. You’ll be surprised how cosy and comfortable the wool carpet is under foot than how it feels in your hands. We also had the second sample (more rubber laminate) in our old property. I would not recommend this product at all, especially in a bathroom despite it saying it can go in there. We had a significant amount of issues with moisture with the flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms. They would always lift up, separate and never gave a cohesive look like traditional engineered wood would give. If you’re going to be adding wood I’d recommend something a little thicker to save on moisture movement. When it comes to wood flooring we’ve definitely noticed you get what you pay for so would always advise you to spend a little more to get a better quality. Don’t be fooled by the F&B brochure colours. Elephants breath and Cornforth white are very warm colour, definitely more cream than grey undertoned. Skimming stone is a stunning neutral and works with both cool and warmer tones. Lots of progress being made in the home, we’re still renovating our property and keep saying “the end is near!” Can’t wait to catch up on the other vlogs. X

Loop carpets are a nightmare for dogs. Even if they don’t get their claws caught the claws pull at the pile and totally ruin the carpet and make it look messy and old, even when it’s not. I would stay clear and shop about for an alternative 😊

Definately prefer the textured carpet. You could go runner style on the stairs and contrast paintwork. Also will be much harder wearing than the plush which is not that dense. Love seeing the progress💕

If you are going for farrow and ball colours, you can go to b&q and they will colour match it in their brand Valspar for a cheaper price. Their v700 blend is extremely durable and can scrub and wash over it. I find farrow and ball is lovely with the chalky finish but knocks with pets easily

I've had both types of carpet and the wool does also flatten out on high traffic areas like the stairs. Plus it discoloured where I cleaned stains. Which you don't have to worry about with the man-made type you clean it with bleach and it works. Saying that I also prefer the look of the wool texture. I did hear carpet right I think it was have bought out a man-made wool weave look . Just renovating my house as well so going to look at that one myself. Your place is coming on really well now its the fun part choosing stuff 😊

Your house is looking beautiful Freya, I love the tiles so natural they look stone like. Our house is all creams and browns with lots of oak and leather, I love that look it’s so cosy. We wanted white in our main bedroom but we went with a off white and I’m so glad we did, it’s nice and bright, looks lovely with the oak furniture but it’s got that cosy feel to it. Can’t wait to see more ❤️❤️❤️
@sabrinalewis36383 жыл бұрын
You could do plush in the bedrooms (lower traffic) and the woven weave wool in the main areas because of a stronger surface for high traffic ares. You’ll enjoy getting out of bed to a softer carpet. Everything is looking great and nice choices. Yard is especially coming together nicely too. Can’t wait to see what you do next! Good luck 👍😎

Good to see your renovations are coming along well - I bet its felt like forever? Just some tips that I have learnt along the way; always use the highest mix of wool in a carpet that you can afford, especially when carpeting your stairs and landing - it definitely helps with the longevity and looks of a carpet over time! Polypropylene carpets look nice when first layed, however, the fibres flatten really quickly, even short fibres. 😉 When using laminate or engineered wood planks, try to get the thickest underlay that you can. My brother has a partitioning and office maintenance business and I ordered my laminate flooring for the whole of my downstairs, from a floor supplier he uses and they recommend the underlay with a gold foil backing( I've since forgotten the name of it, sorry!) and I have to say we do not get a single creek noise and our floor feels totally solid! 😉 I think the laminate in the Roma Oak colour, is the nicest colour of the laminate samples you had.😍 Hope this is helpful. ❤️❤️❤️

This house is going to become a masterpiece! Good bones and high ceilings. I dont like carpet due to the concentration of dust but if you like it.... I think you should consder it for the woodfloors everywere and put small carpets that are easy to clean. But in UK i know that you love carpets evwrywere. The garden needs a little love but the layout is awesame. Hope you finish the whole renovation by Christmas time and start decorating. Keep going.💖💖💖💖💖

In my opinion it's best to keep things nice and light in color so the space feels bigger, light, & airy. We have vinyl floors in our home bcuz of our dogs and it works great. Moths are on the rise in the Uk…100% wool carpet is the ideal natural fibre for moths to lay their eggs in and when the grubs hatch natural fibres are the ideal meal for them It also is prone to smelling if anyone spills liquid on it. Cedar balls might help deter moths but it’s not guaranteed. X

Like your tiles changing color in different lighting your wall paint colors will do the same and the lighting will change throughout the day on certain walls. Unfortunately you may need to live with paint patches on the walls until you can see how the natural lighting and indoor lighting in the house reflects the colors you want. Like your choices and also will vote for the wool carpet!

Have you considered 80% wool, 20% nylon for the carpet? Otherwise, I would always go with wool over polypropylene and engineered wood rather than laminate, as it can be sanded down in the future if necessary and re-finished. Good luck choosing paint colours: I’m hopeless at that!
