There are many great films created in microcosm. 12 ANGRY MEN and GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS are two examples of great movies filmed with the same idea. Ice Cube wanted to show that places like South Central wasn't all violence and tragedy...that there was also comedic interactions and personal stories.

The first time I watch this movie I thought it was pretty funny. I just re-watched it the other day now I think it's even funnier. I have not seen any of the sequels I just wish Chris Tucker would have come back for the sequels. Smokey was my favorite character out of all of them. Craig was my second favorite I think after watching this movie I want to watch more of Chris Tucker's movies. It's kind of funny because I happened with Channing Tatum after 21 Jump Street, then Jason Segel, then Jason Statham, then Sylvester Stallone, then Patrick Swayze only for a short time, then Wesley Snipes for a short time, then Jean-Claude Van Damme big-time, now Tom Cruise and Chris Tucker.
