Hi, Stephanie. I just discovered your page. Sebastian has such strength and I love his personality. Does he experience pain from his condition? Do you find any specific strategies that help him learn? How old is he? I love how you interstate so many sensory activities to give him different experiences. It looks like he is getting stronger.

Hello!! He’s 5, he’ll be 6 in October. Funny you ask about pain! We do believe he feels pain, but due to his brain disease he processes pain differently- and has delayed response. For example, when he’s getting blood drawn, when they put the needle in he often has no response to the needle insertion. Instead, He cries when they put the bandaid on and it’s over!!! We believe that his a prime example of the delay in his brain due to his brain disease and how his body processes things! It’s just a tad bit delayed. However day to day- I don’t think he is in pain. His Therapy is hard work, but I truly believe it’s more frustrating than it is painful. -Not to say that it’s not painful “at all”, because stretching his tight muscles (also related to his syndrome) shouldn’t be painful, it’s just more uncomfortable than painful it seems. He feels pain, but we don’t believe he lives in pain. I hope this helps! Thanks for being here!

Hello when your son starts to crawl either with help or on his own you will probly cry the reason i say this is because when my daughter Aleasha was starting to crawl she was delayed because she was born with a cleft palate it delays you but anyway she was in a class for her to start crawl and she cried the first time being on all fours it was like a light bulb went off and when we got home i laid her on the floor to play she got up on all fours herself and started to crawl all i could do is cry,she was 13 months old when she started crawling and 19 months old when she first walked so yes you will be one Proud Momma..i also wanted to tell you that you are doing everything right and keep moving forward..sending lots of loves from Albany Oregon

I'm so proud of how far he's come and the challenges he's meeting without giving up. This boy is the strongest kid I've ever seen in my life! He amazes me every single video I see. I KNOW we're going to see him sitting up unassisted, standing unassisted and walking one day! He's too determined not to do all the things hoped for. I'm glad to see him enjoying a new exercise in therapy and processing everything he's feeling 😊. What a glorious video Stephanie: from Zeus’s morning potty dance, Nala asking what you were doing (she’s just making sure your making her breakfast 😂), and Sebastian’s morning smile to him working with his physical therapist. Wow! Sebastian is really becoming a big boy. It seems like the last few months he’s made progress my leaps and bounds and he’s making more too. I love the fact that he actually messes with you and Gio. He’s a smart guy. It’s amazing how strong he’s getting, he’s really rolling fast these days, lifting his head, using his legs when he’s rolling. I love how he can look and follow things with his head and eyes.
