Dude is out side the formation, does a 720 spin, and then tracks 2 seconds underneath the formation and pulls.... Genius.

This one is so bad it made me start laughing. Spinning base, major level issues, terrible tracking, dumping under a formation, not clearing your airspace. Just wow.

Definately too big group for the skill level. And if you go horribly low, track away (from line of flight) like your life depended on it.
@MrReasonabubble
@MrReasonabubble 4 жыл бұрын
@@alterthough I know it's a popular strategy, but I'm not really a fan of the 'gone horribly low, track away and keep tracking' plan. If you do that, now nobody knows where you are and the other people are relying on your tracking skills and heading awareness to guarantee that you will be nowhere near your group (or anyone else's) when they come to break off and deploy themselves. If you overshoot or can't stay up with the base, chances are your tracking skills are not all that hot either. I've seen so many people who dive when they think they're tracking that I'd be afraid if they start 'tracking' after going low, then mainly what they're doing is putting even more vertical distance between themselves and the other members of the group, and making themselves less visible. I'd prefer for people to have gone low to spend the rest of the dive if necessary, all the way to the agreed break-off height, staying in close proximity and working to get back up. If they haven't managed it before break-off, then they turn and track with everyone else.

Questions you didnt think you needed to include on an A license test. True/False: Spinning and Tracking are not the same. True/False: Spinning will get you proper distance from a group to pull. True/False: Pulling under a group is fine. The group will track away from you. True/False: Pull at a lower altitude than the parachutes below you. True/False: Your Russia comrade will provide proper cushion. Parachute not necessary.

Simples.........if you can't stay level with the group or join the formation within an agreed height for whatever reason, then get away as quickly as possible in a 'straight feckin line'. Forget about staying where you are or practising your turns or perfecting whatever comes into your head.........just select a safe heading and track as far away as possible into your own tube before pulling and walk home alive.

After watching this again, who organizes something like this? In past experience, there are always going to be people on inexperienced jumps, but we always make sure they're smiled enough for the jump they're making. And to be perfectly honest, there are always exceptions, like being too busy to notice, but still not an excuse. I see no reason for a 6-7 way when the linked base can't even keep a God damn heading. What a nightmare. Nice plane tho! F that!

It was the old fashion jump, practiced in eastern countries before in 80s, 90s. The rule is just one, all out. And was not very uncommon. That's why no jump master, no load organizer, no formation organizer, no section organizer. All this things, that became common in recent years. Merely the accuracy was jumped and occasionally the jumps like this. Who comes near, to formation, comes, and who not, not. Usually the base was formed with the heaviest and weakest by knowledge, ones. Seen his and jumped like this before.

@@mikescott2879 Just react with replying literally. Whether or not such damage makes the canopy uncontrollable? If yes, - okay. If no, - is it possible to stop spiralling with brake and/or weight shift? Or maybe the wing will progress destroying, so it is not reasonable to wait. Just interesting. In paragliding, there are instructions to throw a reserve immediately in a wide range of issues, including partial destruction of lines and/or surfaces. But there are cases when pilots keep control. Especially if emergency landing right here is worse than trying to fly away. So, what is the border - to try / to escape?

You people do not predetermine and tell each other your opening altitudes either? Also, you TRACK OUT.... Close one.

Sinks right past the formation, and doesn't even try to get eyes on it once? Then throwing off the shred of spacial awareness that he/she might have had with some nice spinning. How's he/she flying a camera? OOF.

That last guy not checking his damaged main chute by releasing the brakes and seeing how flyable his main is before cutting away in my opinion was premature and could have lead to his death by not keeping a flyable/landable but damaged main for a possible reserve malfunction.

Could have done a check for sure, but I have 2 friends that have broken backs for the rest of their life because they tried to land a partial malfunction. You can't determine your sink rate accurately up there and when you realize you are coming in too fast, you are too low to cutaway

The whole 'reserve malfunction' thing is a red herring. If you don't have effectively total confidence in your reserve opening successfully, then that can lead to some very bad decisions. It is there for a reason, and you should not feel afraid to use it.
In skydiving, both main AND reserve malfunctioned
