Great video Leigh. Provided some great information. Please say hello to Clay for us. Met him in Texas a few years back at the Nationals south of Dallas. He was such a gentleman. We spoke for a bit. Helped us with some merchandise. Hope to see him again sometime in the future. Hope everyone is safe at the races and safe traveling... Blessings from Texas...🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I love it when the wind from the ocean brings in the “marine layer” to cool off Sonoma Raceway at Sears Point. I love Friday night at the Sonoma Nationals!! Sacramento is really hot in July. It’s such a treat to go and cool off on the friday night at the Sonoma Nationals!! Leigh Rules!! I must checkout Australian Drag Racing!!

The 2 element rear wing was developed at Dan Gurney's All American Racers in the late 70's. It was known as the Lebeck airfoil and was very successful. It was then introduced to drag racing by Gary Beck and the rest was history.

Force, Capps and Alexander... THANKFULLY with Force and Alexander the other cars had shut down allowing Force and Alexander cars to do what it needed to do during the explosions and impacts well ahead down track from the other cars. Capps skirted just behind the other car. Had any of these other racers been closer to Force, Capps and Alexander, as bad as these were, it could have been much worse. Many HUGE explosions this year. Thankful, though a long road ahead, Force is out of the hospital and Capps, Alexander and the other drivers are all ok. How about we have no more of this for the rest of the year?? Geez, what a season so far. What a information packed video this was. Thank you Leigh and BRUCE !!!!!! so good to see him, Sad it is for only a short time.

No one ever thinks about this. But I did one year. Eddie Hill, Big DDG & myself we did the math on it wail eating hotdogs at Garlits Mopar & R/car drag show at the museum. It came about because we saw the foam tires on the R/C dragsters flying apart. At approximately 230 mph at sea level the rear wing will completely smash the rear tire to the rim and blow it out. 😮 The only thing that prevents this from happening is outer tire growth from GFORCE. So mathematically we figured out is around 6400 lbs of outward GForce at 300mph. It is a true miracle that the tires ever finish a run. Without physics and a million other little tiny things to do with the rubber makeup, the atmosphere, air pressure. It’s amazing these tires ever survive half a run. Let alone run two or three runs. Wrap your head around that. 😊

Bottom end, is the most important ,gotta have connecting rods stay in the en, right, thanks, and just think people they do the bottom end with hot steaming oil dripping on them, hot sleeves on a fire sock /safety shields or glasses, and gloves, nomex gloves 🧤 thanks, Leigh great job, thanks BigAl California

Leigh I asked Clay in his 12:25 video if they ever test going into reverse when doing the warmup in the pits.?? You might know. It’s rare to see a car not reverse after the burnout but it happens. Thank you..

Great start to weekend. Had a great time today on the live feed also. I am still trying to find out what happened to Salinas in Q3 or 4? NHRA didn't even have it on TV tonight. Anyway she's ok I heard from you when you were on a phone call. We were able to hear you lmao. The one when you were talking about Prock and Todd also haha. Great stuff. See ya tomorrow.

I meant to put it in my video that’s loading but forgot.. she did her burnout .. car quit.. they have to have her exit the car & get over the wall for safety of the other car she was gonna run. When they were trying to hurry & help her out they all took a tumble on the track.. they made it on across the wall but they prolly sore now
@jackmooney45Ай бұрын
@@leighmillicanhubbard It happens. Glad she is ok. She's too tiny to be getting hurt lol. Go to sleep leigh! lol

Can you do drag reduction on the rear wing by opening a slat while driving, like F1 cars do? They do a good job giving downforce, but it must be at the cost of huge drag once you get over 250 mph or do you need all that downforce the whole way? Good luck this weekend.

hi, R.E. rear wing, Have you established minimum settings, aka weight requirements for the rear wing to operate properly? How critical Do you think any of these settings to picking up 5 hundred's/ 1/tenth of a second?IF the rear wing is no the great divider in ETs- what do you this is?
@geraldroberts9044Ай бұрын
Too bad Baylands drag strip wasn’t still around. It was only maybe two hours from Sonoma and in its time it was the fastest track.
@richardbanks5628Ай бұрын
Yes, when you are doing over 300 MPH anything could happen.
So the Clovis joint on the strut holding the wing up is not a heim joint. The density altitude is the amount of air there is not the amount of oxygen (it’s 80% Nitrogen). Do these guys actually know what they’re doing?
@leighmillicanhubbardАй бұрын
Pretty sure they do..
