Actually spoke to Horror Peach's og creator before. Seems like the Horror version take key traits of the character and basically make them the opposite. They recently made Horror Luigi and they said he is a veteran and is independent. Tho him and his brother don't often get along as they would sometimes bitch at each other. But other than that the brothers aren't hostile to one another as they keep to themselves

For a second, I thought this mod would follow the tradition of the sonic.exe mod, where the second phase would always have a very heavy rock instrumental and a pixel session of the antagonist, but no! It was completely different and even better, featuring characters that are part of the Super Horror Mario lore, like Horror Peach. simply incredible.

It definitely seems like there was some inspiration from You Can't Run like part of it having rock (but not as prevalent), the song being faster paced than the first, the overall more intense background, and both end with the antagonist angered. But it definitely managed to stand out as it's own thing with the trumpet playing Parabones and some other Super Horror characters. The whole reason the pixel section was in You Can't Run was to inform the player that Boyfriend is in a video game. You don't need that here when the opening literally shows that happening, so might as well do something different.

I feel the only reason why BF is nervous unlike in YCR is because he knows that he’s pissing off X, but him knowing M isn’t even phased or flinching at the fact that he isn’t winning the sing-off just makes him think that he’s going to be harder to fight than he looks. Sure Mario is pissed off at the end but for 1. BF didn’t deal damage to him the first place, and two. He’s not pissed off in the sense that he’s not winning but more of that he just wants to end BF. Of course the scenery would also make Bf nervous as well. It’s at least better than being in the middle of a dark ass forest.
