I know that tails is immortal but I made a theory that sonic is a clone. Infact , I've always wondered how was sonic made, there's no mention of sonic's parents, and shadow is actually clone too, and the extra life system bugged me, it made sense why mario would have a mushroom for his extra life he runs on drugs, but sonic's is just his face in a monitor, there is a comic, with a sonic called extra life, I don't exactly remember the story, but I know that the extra life sonic was a prototype, that was evil, but I think that sonic dies so many times he comes back and thats the reason why tails is immortal, because sonic gets a clone and tails being player 2, who's purpose is helping sonic, will never die even if he tried, also there are alot of universes in sonic so anything could be different.
