VS Monika (Doki Doki Takeover) just got an update, but it's now called Doki Doki Takeover Plus and it includes over 30 songs, a bunch of secrets, art, a ton of cute costumes for all the boys and girls in the Literature Club, a gallery, "alternate endings" for the main protagonist, epiphany with lyrics, easter eggs, new game over animations, huge story, Senpai finds a way to glitch into Monika game, a new VA-11 Hall-A song, a new PROJECT LIBITINA song (supposedly its Team Savaltos next game, or did that got debunk?) and much more. This update is pretty huge. Will Boyfriend and Girlfriend be able to beat the Doki Doki Literature Club or will BF & GF be finally defeated?

You know what I really love about this? It reminds me so much of the old fnf. Back when every popular mod wasn’t Dave and Bambi or a horror mod, when they were more cheerful, when they weren’t hard but just fun to play, when they featured more original characters and when they actually felt like they belonged in fnf. Sure this mod might be a fnf version of ddlc but it feels so uplifting and there are so many cameo appearances that it gives me real nostalgia. Good times…

Yeah I like FNF mods that are actually playable and around my level (where I don't frequently miss). The combos actually feel satisfying and I love how this mod properly throws a few slightly more challenging songs as you go. It feels right since I also get to practice and actually enjoy the mod and its story rather than being met with the same sequences and 14 minutes of spamming. Personally, I found this mod very enjoyable. It had lots of sick songs and it had cool parts to it like the protagonist's song where they had to choose a doki mid-song, and also the artwork. It was also a crossover with personally one of my favourite games of all time (which I'm still practically addicted to now). This whole mod, especially with the addition of the newest update, really felt like a whole new game in general and is now one of my favourite mods/crossovers/experiences. Massive respect towards the devs.

Back when the mod came out, I thought you'd face the protagonist in the festival week. So it's great to see they gave him a week even if he's not that important in the main game compared to the girls. The Epiphany song having lyrics is cool, as well as the costumes they added. - The Pixel Prologue Week had a major overhaul - Most of the Doki Doki girls are reanimated - Pixel BF sprites are remade | GF on some slight additional coloring in her pixel sprites - BF's uniform sprites are also remade; he's actually wearing a proper boys' school uniform - Some ending cutscenes in the non-prologue weeks have been slightly remade, especially for the most of it at the end of Yuri's week - Epiphany has a new background, and so does Monika - The tracks that haven't got much instrumental change are (Poems N' Thorns, Dual Demise, Glitcher (Monika Mix), but it has remade vocals. - Most of the menu visuals are revamped - New Costumes, Freeplay-exclusive feature! - MC is finally an opponent to rap against! - Epiphany (with Lyrics), is now an additional freeplay difficulty after defeating the normal Epiphany! - Can save Monika from being deleted (shown in the link cg posted in the comment: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXmsl36lpLB7qqc) - Encore Week - Side Stories - Secret Songs - There is also Bad Ending, but that's a separate mod. Interesting that they bring oriental music for the Monika & Senpai prologue. It makes sense since it's in "Hating Simulator" where Senpai's spirit is trapped in. I'm glad that they remade the dialogue for the mod more fleshed out and more full of character while also having some nods/references to the events that would've transpired in Act 3, but are interrupted/started by BF and GF rather than the Player themselves. It's a brilliant move to have the mod be something of a "Good Ending" to the original game's events, and that makes me genuinely happy. And all the new content is AWESOME! There's so much to see and do and hear! It's a bit overwhelming honestly, but it's all so good! :D Also, the fact they go down a route of Senpai trying to get with Monika is hilarious. It's both a fun Side Story song AND it addresses the FNF fandom and Senpai and Monika are NOT meant to be together ever since they interacted in the first Monika Mod. XD Probably the only minor nitpick I have is that I wish that they returned the sprites of the Dokis and MC back to a more "original" style of the OG DDLC game, or at least created some sort of "fusion" of artsyles. The eye colors were something that I felt were lacking despite the Dokis being intentionally made for the FNF style. But it's not that big of a deal. And they remade Monika's pixel sprites, so that's a bonus! The quality and respect and love and heart and soul that went into this clearly shines through! :)

I'm going to be completely honestly, I went through the whole thing when I came out yesterday and I gotta say, it was the most fun I've ever had with an FNF mod. From the costumes, to the updated music and visuals. Songs I didn't like all that much before were now absolute bangers, lots of characters got their stories fully resolved(senpai), we got to hear MC actually sing, it's just been lots of fun. Nice to see the members of the literature club get their happy endings. Some people think that happy endings detract from the game ro whatever people think, but I always like it. Nice to see Monika reach a new reality, where she is removed from the constraints of the game. I liked the sequence where each member sang with Monika and showed how their lives had improved, wholesome.

Mods from this game are expanding more and more. It's cool to see how far we've come, first it was OG charcters which were cool (Whitty), then it became finger breaking charts (Whitty/Expurgation), then death notes (Hellclown/Expurgation/Accelerant), other mechanics like instant death (Imposters), then hour long mods, now we have 3 hour long mods. First VS Impostor, Now DDTO+ 2 masterpiece in just the first 3 months of the year. I'm 15 minutes in and this is already S Tier. I'll update how I think about this mod here in the next 3 hours Edit: Just finished the video, What an amazing mod, The details, The art, The song (THEY EVEN HAVE PAUSE MENU ART AND COSTUMES) So so much better than what I expected. The encore week is pure banger (Especially Our Harmony) The part where Monika start singing the ACTUAL lyrics made me fly. "You and Me" from MC week was amazing as well, The fact that you can choose making this song so unique and fun. 1:51:00 The silly 1:58:37 SAYORI I like the new Epiphany update, It's already my favourite song from the previous update, Now I like it even more. I don't know what to say, I just like the actual lyrics. So amazing. Yep, This mod is definitely a solid S Tier. Everything is so smooth together. This and VS Impostor is truly the peak of FNF. This mod for me #1 for me just because of the new mechanics, the emotions the stories brings, the remixes, and the overall vibes the mod gives me. The official unpixelated Senpai, the new redesigns for pixelated BF and Monika, and all the new cut scened and outfits really brought the mod to life. This year has been a year of overall bangers in the world of FNF, from Impostor v4 to DDTO+, I can't wait for what else is in store. Thanks to this community and the amazing talent it has, I found some level of sanity in life. :D And y'know, cuz Monika is in it lol

I discovered DDT and DDT Bad Ending in last summer and I still listen to Markov and Obsession quite often. I'm so happy and nostalgic to see this mod return! Let me just get this feeling out of me. I absolutely love DDLC with all my heart. Truly the best anime game for me. But this mod... Feels like the biggest gift for my heart. The songs leaves a charming vibe and i couldn't stop headbopping every song, the chart was very fun and fair, the artwork is absolutely wonderful. What could i say other than a frickin' masterpiece. This mod made me realize how much this game changed my life to good. I legit cried during the end. Huge thanks to the devs for creating this masterpiece. So glad ddlc community didn't forgot. It's nice seeing Monika get a legit second chance that doesn't go horribly wrong. (like it did in og DDLC. In OG DDLC After Monika gets deleted. She feels regret for her actions and brings back her friends only for it to go horribly wrong and everything needing to be erased.) So glad she got to live a better life here with her friends after realising her errors. She's so happy to know that her loved ones aren't just code and that there is life outside the literature club. (Also. Senpai has terrible luck. Lol. First girlfriend rejects him then Monika. Dude got rejected twice)

Genuinely one of the best Mods ever made, I love and respect the TBD team so much, I could tell they really genuinely cared about DDLC in the first few versions of this Mod, But to just flat-out show Libitina, And give her Vocals the same as Yuri's? Yeah... They know everything there is to know about DDLC, A true team of fans for DDLC. I personally might say this is my favorite Mod ever really, I've always had a soft spot for DDLC and am a big fan of it, But this just feels super special to me nonetheless, There will always be some Mods that remain as my favorites as well, But if I were to name one specific one at THIS point it would be this, I've played this so many times over at this point I've lost track. It's also just really nice to see Mods get their closure ^_^ This Mod had 0 unnecessary "Drama" ruining it's reputation, And just kept being the amazing thing that it was, I'm so glad it was able to finish on such a great note! My only question about the festival is *still* about how Boyfriend knows "It's Complicated" and "Crucify." Those songs are not songs our BF features in, and I am not about to beleive *this* guy is omnicient. I also love Senpai's characterization, and the distinction between him and Spirit, and the overall smaller details. Really gives the mod a nice feel.

Me and my sister played through the entirety of this amazing update. Now, I've been around since the VS Monika version of this mod and It makes me very happy to see how far DDTO has come. The ending put a genuine smile on my face and my sister had a blast playing with me. With a game as dark as the actual Doki Doki Literature Club, the story and ending makes you feel happy for the characters since they get a good ending. I see what Sayori meant when she said “the song was both happy and upbeat, and yet it felt really sad too”. I guess since the song was happening during a heartbreaking moment, when it was supposed to be a happy moment; it has that unexpected feeling of suspense I guess
