I just binge watched the whole show, we NEED shows like this to come back. I loved the fact that it didn't have all these HS kids driving brand new whatever vehicles, most of the adults didn't either. Almost every character "lived" a "normal" type of life. In 2021 we NEED shows that teach respect, kindness, compassion, how to overcome all of the BS and how to come together as one.
@MJLOVEnow3 жыл бұрын
My husband and I are binge watching it now. Spent our whole vacation in Maui watching it every night , so that says something! I agree wholeheartedly. Great role modeling, wonderful characters, the writing is impeccable and each actor has his character absolutely nailed. So sorry we never gave it a chance when it was on network TV but so thrilled to have found it now! Love the reunion idea! It’d be a winner!

There was more to the show than that though - it also raised questions about what people permit like the way the redistricting was done for football players, the imbalance in funding for sport for girls and the absurdity of how much money was spent on a few kids to play sport when the academic side was struggling for me. I kind of feel like it would be good for a show to be like Friday Night Lights but angrier, without being too moralising etc

This was by far the greatest show of the 2000's (OTH coming in a very close second!). Everyone talks about The OC or The Hills or some sort of show like that but they never appreciate the true beauty that was Friday Night Lights. Clear eyes, Full hearts, Can't lose. (Plus, Connie Britton= hottest mom/hair EVER and her and Adrianne Palicki (Tyra)'s friendship is unbreakable.)

I agree but I think one of the best parts of the show is how they demonstrate that there is life after football. If you think about it, only Smash went on to have a legit collegiate career. Albeit, Vince was on his way there too.

My thoughts on what happened to all the FNL characters: Lyla Garrity: She went on to graduate college, reached her dreams n goals, married with kids now. She never returned to Dillon. Tyra Collete: She graduated college, she got a great job working for a big company where she travels the world. Eventually she gets tired of travelling so much and decides she want to be closer to family. She returns to Dillon, where she ends up marrying Tim Riggins n works as a counsellor at Dillon HS. Becky Sproles: Luke Cafferty was killed overseas. Sad about his death, she went to Tim Riggins for comfort, they hook up, begin a relationship but it ends as TIm is not in love with her. Still friends, but she is now single n going to college. Tim Riggins: He built his house, got a good job, he co owns Riggins Riggs with Billy. Tyra came back years later n they got married. He still is best friends with Jason Street. Coach Eric Taylor n Tami: He is now an assistant coach in the NFL, he and his wife are still married. He still talks to the High School players that used to play for him from time to time. Tami is now the dean of her school. Billy and Mindy: They now have 3 kids, Riggins RIggs has now become successful with Billy hiring employees n a manager to run the business, while he checks in on occasion. He is a stay at home dad. Mindy is a bartender at the landing strip. Julie Taylor n Matt: They break up as Matt realizes she is not the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with. For Obvious reasons(anyone who watched the show, should know) Jason Street: Still best friends with Riggins, they visit each other every year. Him n his wife are still married with 3 kids n he is a very successful sports agent. Hes coach Taylors agent. Landry: He graduates from school n became a physician
