You can't draft with 3 people, but you can take 6 packs each and make a sealed pool, then have a three way multiplayer.

I've drafted 3 people before. We just took the 4th person's person's packs (who never showed) and had 4 packs per person. Kinda awkward but better then nothing. 2 people they could have played sealed. They would have had enough.

He says to open two packs, take two card from one and one from the other (27 cards left), then shuffle them together and cutting it in half (also specifing that he was only using these two packs), opening the other pack would have actually solved it.

Matteo Bortolotti Paul's hypothetical draft was for 3 people. EDIT: Derp, rewatched the stinger... yea, that doesn't work how he thinks it works. :/

dragonbretheren Though using his initial setup of 3 people 4 packs each, open 2 packs, take 2 from one, 1 from the other, I can work out the rest. You basically have 2 2-pack draft rounds instead of the standard 3 1-pack draft rounds. In packs 1&2, you pick 2 from one, 1 from the other. Pass the 13 card pack clockwise, the 14 pack counterclockwise. You should in turn recieve a 13 pack and a 14 pack from your neighbors. From the 13, (that you should have recieved from your right) you take 1 and pass the remaining 12 clockwise again. From the 14 pack, (which should have come from your left) take 2 and pass the remaining 12 counterclockwise again. Basically, each pack keeps moving in the same direction alternating 1-2-1-2-1-2... going counterclockwise or 2-1-2-1-2-1... going clockwise. Once you finish that, you should end up recieving 2 cards from your right and 1 card from your left. For packs 3&4, you repeat the process but reverse the initial passing order having 1-2-1-2... going clockwise and 2-1-2-1... going counterclockwise. Voila! I give you the Paul Draft (for 3 people)!! After drafting, play a 3 player free-for-all.

dragonbretheren The problem was unrelated to the number of people (also, I wondered how that last third pack was supposed to be used). It would work as you said keeping the packs (and using four of them, even though having 60 cards minus lands to make a 40-cards deck would make interesting) as they are and moving in these directions, as he said in the stinger it wouldn't have been assured that every persone had the same number of cards to pick up from. Still, is coming from Paul, the one who was able to make a video uploading time -20 seconds, so he might have had his ways to fix it...

After thinking it over, there are some holes in Paul's new draft method. Namely, his opening seems faulty as one pack minus 2 cards and one pack minus 1 card combine for a total of 27 cards, which you cannot then split in half. It all falls apart after that.
