You did a great job! I've been sewing for almost 50 years and I too could not get my Wilder Gown to fit properly. I normally do a 3/8" round back adjustment and a forward should adjustment on all my patterns. I did read about adjusting the raglan sleeve but I sized up from a small to medium and lengthened the bodice as you did and also interfaced the collar portion of the neck/sleeve area to give it more body. It fits much better now but I'm of the opinion that this is perhaps not a well drafted pattern (if that makes any sense). I too made three muslns trying to figure out why it pulled in certain places on the neck area. I wear my ruffled collar pulled up around my neck and that seems to look best on me. Thank you for your video. I thought I was the only one scratching my head on how to get this pattern to work for me!

Your dress is so beautiful! I just made this pattern and love it! I don’t what took me so long. I have a question. I usually need to do a FBA, but this time I just made it “as is” since it has so much ease. I have some minor tightness when I raise my arms. I think I like how the just fits, and thought of adding to the sleeves. The pulling is across the bust line where the sleeve attaches. I like my fit on the loose side. Can you give me tips on how you increase the size of the sleeve at the deltoid area? Slash and spread? Thanks for your suggestions. P

Idk how much I can help 🙈 slash and spread would word…So the top part of the dress is basically a raglan top. So all your modifications would relate to that. I would start with googling tightness with raise arm + raglan. You may need more width through the back or maybe even a fba after all. If you just want to try googling the adjustment for large deltoid adjustment + raglan and see if that helps. I would look in general for adjustments related to tightness when raise arms and then find what that would be for a raglan. I don’t know if any of this is helpful but good luck 🙂

Thank you for your reply. I found a post and it looks pretty easy to increase the sleeve and/or back. I think if I add it anywhere it will resolve the issue.

I thought your first muslin looked fine, but I can see the difference with your third one! Sooo much better!! Congratulations! I have never done that and I would feel nervous doing it, but it is totally worth it. I will definitely jump for it. The fit looks so much better! Thanks for sharing!

I took me so long of staring in the mirror to figure out what was wrong with the first one too! It’s not the worst fit! But it is crazy what small adjustments can do for fit! Definitely recommend doing muslins. I think I am going to do them more often from now on. Thanks so much for watching!

I've made two of these dresses. I didn't modify anything for the first version and I felt like the length of the bodice was too short because of my bust line. On my second one I increased the bodice length but I didn't end up doing an FBA because the fit of the top was loose enough (for my size). I also added an extra tier because I was going for a specific look to match a dress I saw online. In my first version I felt like I couldn't really lift my arms over my head. I forgot about that when I made my second version and for some reason I'm not having the same issue with the second one. I'm not sure if it's fabric related or not? Anyway - I am also not a fit expert LOL. But I'm impressed that you had the patience to make 3 muslins!! Well done!

It think could definitely be fabric related. The muslin I made out of cotton/poly bedsheet fits a bit different than the final version in bubble crepe because it is stiffer 🤷‍♀️ Haha, luckily, each time you make the muslin it goes faster and faster! At the time I was pouting about it, but after it’s done…I think it’s worth it!

Well done on your perseverance. I love the Wildergown and for me was fine straight outta the pack but I do wear the neck gathered in a bow around my neck rather than the looser fit that looks like your preference x

Thanks Paula! Fitting is a long process, but I think it pays off in the end! It seems it was great straight out of the package for most people 🤔 Lucky ducks! The bow does seems to change things quite a bit. I should have been a swimmer with these shoulders!!

Just want to add it's not you. It's the pattern in my opinion after trying to get this to fit me comfortably. I believe anytime you have this type of garment with little opportunity to shape and get a nice fit on the body you will have fitting issues.
