Hi Lindy, you’ve given me a few additions for my TBR and I’m excited to see if my library has some of these books. The trees book is amazing! You know how I love trees.😊 Thank you so much for taking me to the gorge where you row and I love the blue Heron. Maybe I’ll see it the next time I visit Canada. Aloha friend.

Maya, it’s too bad that you won’t be here tomorrow because my rowing club is having a Come Try Rowing day. Maybe your daughter would have liked to try it. 🛶

Us looks lovely, the section you shared makes me feel so hopeful. Glad you got to 80 Trees! Brilliant and beautiful book, I found the writing so lyrical and full of information even though it is so brief.

Thanks for watching, Rebecca. Yes, 80 Trees is jam-packed with fascinating facts about trees, yet there’s something gentle and light in the presentation… perhaps it’s the delicate illustrations that give that effect.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more people talking about A History of Burning. I agree that its a solid historical fiction. Another book to illustrate how much the British empire has shaped our current world.

Sad but true. Speaking of the British empire’s messes, I’m really pleased that Brotherless Night has had a double win!

Love the Weinersmiths (/ Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal) ! Hadn't heard about their book about Mars. What's always got me is how can people possible believe that it is easier to terraform an inhospitable planet than to find solutions to the problems we've created on a planet that is perfectly suited for our survival? Best left as science fiction imo.

City on Mars is excellent. I don’t know Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal but Zach Weinersmith’s Bea Wolf is very clever.

Lindy, you're really living it up in Victoria! Amazing! Also, i just picked up Us on my trip to Spain in the original Spanish and i am so excited! I assumed it was originally written in Spanish but anyway, very excited!

Well that’s cool, that you bought the original edition of Us! I hope you enjoy it. I learned that Soler is Aragonese, a minority language & culture in Spain, but I assume that books aren’t published in Aragonese. How was your trip?

@@lindysmagpiereads I really enjoyed it! Thanks for all your hard work getting that together. I checked out "Us" while on the zoom and read it last night and really liked it. Also, I'm not sure if you listen to podcasts but I listen to ABC's The Bookshelf from Australia because I like their discussions around new books. Anyways, they talked about Alphabet Diaries last week and I was really intrigued by that conversation and it made me think maybe I will actually pick it up at some point.
