Wow you are going to be busy! 🤣 I like those two fabrics together and I think they’ll make a great outfit. And I agree with the other commenter who said to make a top with the velvet and wear it with nice trousers and accessories. It would make a gorgeous holiday outfit.

Gorgeous fabrics! I would make the green velvet into the top and pair it with nice black dress pants for Christmas. Jazz it up with some jewellery and dress shoes. Definitely make the Merlin coat. Happy sewing!

You are so funny! We all go through this process. Can’t count the number of projects I want to get finished by the end of the weekend 😂🤣 Definitely the Merlin coat! Much more stylish. I like the flowered ribbing and the rust (?) coloured twill together. I would probably make a bias midi skirt or my go to Lander Pants. But I also like Kim’s idea of the Bob Pants.

The Merlin coat is much more you than the Newcombe....and will look stunning in those fabrics.

I wish I could get 10% of what I want to get done, done! Just figuring out which pattern and fabric to put together can be something that eats time, but we want to be as happy as possible with what we make, too, so we ruminate...I agree with looking at a piece of fabric you have on hand and thinking, "I don't remember buying this 😄!" I love that stretch velvet - so elegant!

I chuckled when you said your cameras battery was low, just after saying that you were very tired. Two low batteries! It looks like the brown fabric slightly faded on the fold. I would make a velours sweater. Such pretty fabric and you will wear it more than a dress.
