I think the Elodie dress looks lovely on you! I need to dig my kit out to make one for next year. What a pain with the dawn jeans, hope you manage to get the fit sorted. I think you should do the hack anyway even if one of the other choices wins the vote. Xx

I think your Holland Park will be lovely! I have made the Dawn's a long time ago but didn't have any sizing issues! I think the Anna dress would be wonderful in your teal viscose. The Elodie is a lovely dress and a super sew but you seem to like a more fitted bodice ? Thanks for sharing 😊

Notches on a fold 😂😂😂. Well that’s a new one even for me and I think I am the error queen!!! Great save though- one I have used myself., sadly, too many times🫤. Safe to say, I no longer cut notches _ I just mark them with a wash out crayon or frixion pen. Your Giselle is lovely on you and it is a good idea to have a basic bodice you can adapt -I use a McCalls dress bodice as my ” block”. And yes, the teal spot will look so good on you. Anna dress gets my vote but any of your options will work. Happy Sewing😊.Lynne

I nipped a sleeve once with pinking sheers. I did the same repair with iron-on, interfacing and it lasted through many washes. Thanks for the video.

I had the same experience with what I hoped would be a wearable toile Dawn jeans!! I measured between and size 18 and 20 so made a size 20 assuming I could take it in on the side seam. I went to town with the top stitch but when I got to point of being able to try them on….. well I shall say I also have a juicy bum and they were indecently hungry! My boyfriend who is horizontal in pretty much all matter was like ‘you can’t wear them out the house’ 😂. They have been relegated to the naughty corner without a waistband for the time being in the assumption if for some miracle I loose some weight that I might finish them. I’m abit stuck as to what to do as Iv maxed out my pattern size range and reluctant to buy the next size band when it might be that I have to do a full bum adjustment. I reduced the side seam to see whether I could get them to work but it didn’t at all🫣. So I’m interested to see how you get on with your daughter jeans as I haven’t the energy yet to face figuring out adjusting the pattern. Although I have watched a number of videos of trousers adjustment to try and understand what I might need👍🏻

The Lockheart fabric, may be if you had a white t/shirt underneath it would have the lift you are looking for. So frustrating re the problems with your daughters jeans - good luck with fixing that. Love the ideas of the possible hacks to the Giselle dress & the colours really suit you. I have the Elodie pattern but not made it up but think with your figure it would lovely in the fabric you showed. Great fabric for your hubby’s shirt.❤

I love your ideas about hacking the Giselle dress. The BHL Anna dress is beautiful and I think you would look lovely in it. Hope the toile for the Dawn jeans goes well. I would just make a shorts length and add a waistband because it could affect fit. Happy sewing, Angela.

I’ve made 3 of the Little Anna children’s dresses this week and 1 adult version - bridesmaid dresses for my daughters wedding. I’m on my school holidays so have spent practically all this last week sewing. I can recommend the Anna, it’s a lovely sew, not too complicated and I’d suggest testing to see if you can get in to it without bothering to insert the zip - I’ve not had to put a zip in any of the versions I’ve made and it’s saved me so much time! I’ve also bought a ticket for Plymouth Frocktails - I’m one of those being brave and coming alone 😬 Very excited for it though!

Now doing a deep dive down the rabbit hole of the by hand London website… I did say no to the SOI Giselle when the sale was on as I have a similar style pattern somewhere in my stash….somewhere… Great vlog and looking forward to seeing your makes next week. Always love a good hack, I've been hacking the kimono tee by Maria Denmark into tops and dresses, it's similar to Naya but free!! I would say the Anna dress, I've always wanted to make The Anna dress too! 😊

Oh i totally understand about having plans to sew and then other obligations get in the way. That was my week! Even though when I'm finished here, i just want to go upstairs and sew it's not happening. Housework downstairs first! Then upstairs to the sewing room to move some things so my husband can put up a much needed shelf. How do I access the community channel?

The only jeans that fit me really well are my ones from Simply Be I find they fit my back really well as they shape them in at the waist but I really want to try making my own. Hi Angela! You had me giggling with your snipping blunder on your red dress. It was nice to know I am not the only one who makes those silly mistakes. I love the dress you were wearing. Beautiful colors on you! I cut out 3 patterns for fall, a blouse, pants, and a wrap dress. But really no sewing except clothing to fix like redoing a hem, elastic waistband, etc. it’s been hard to want to sew fall clothes when it’s still in the 90’s here in Colorado.

Ooooo I'm making the Style Arc Ellis Knitt T, downloaded the pattern last weekend. Its 3 neck styles, Im making a long sleeve boat neck. It would be perfect for that blue stripe fabric. Made me want to get some now. Last weekend I accidently cut out 2 backs instead of a front and a back... Goodness knows why I did that.

Love the idea of hacking the Giselle dress. Once you have a good base it is a brilliant idea to use that to work from. How did you get such a good fit? Did you have to make loads of toiles?

Love the Giselle dress and would love to see your variations. I have the pattern but it's too big across the shoulders making the back opening gape. May need to put in two small darts in the neckline to see if that fixes it. Love your videos.

I think if you take fabric out of back of the garment, you have to add a corresponding amount to the front pattern piece

Mimi G has a video on KZbin or Instagram with a great hack to fix a sway back by putting a piece of elastic into the back of a jeans waistband. Why not just buy your daughter a new jeans and adjust it that way?😉
