Hi Grace! What a nice, comfy dress!! You finished a dress this week and I only worked on the dress I'm making. I got some tweaking done on the zipper which took some time and then I sewed the side seams together. I'm hoping to get more done on it this week-end. Your garden is growing fast and everything looked good. My brother has the green thumb in my family but I keep trying. Have a great week-end!

Lovely, lovely dress! That fabric is right up my street. So many of the things you make surely do inspire me! Also, wanted to say that I asked my daughter in Florida to see if she could locate a New Look Counter book to send to me ( I’m in Japan) and, lo and behold she found one at Hobby Lobby for $4 just like you said! We don’t have American patterns stocked here, and I haven’t seen a Counter Book in many years. I share your love of NL! 😊. So thank you so much for your channel.

Love your dress, nice details and the color looks beautiful on you! I have been using Waverly fabrics for years the Home Decor fabrics for draperies and pillows. I have also sewed many tops from the Walmart fabric and they wash and wear so well. Have to renew my Vogue fabric subscription, they always have great fabrics and I enjoy reading all the stories. They put allot into that publications and I always but too much. I know this is post is from a year ago and I’m catching up on all the ones I missed. You are always so positive and upbeat, enjoy watching you and seeing what you are up to. Stay well!

Oh wow! Thank you Kathleen. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Yes, I discovered the Waverly brand of fabric at Walmart. In fact, the Gertie top that I sewed up in my upcoming video later today is made from a gorgeous Waverly cotton from Walmart. I also LOVE Vogue Fabrics. Amazing quality and price. I hope you watch and enjoy my video today. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for showing us your seedlings! They look great. I love spring when things are growing and becoming green again. I, too, like the Waverly brand at Walmart. I use it for a lot of the crafting things I do, because it’s so sturdy and relatively inexpensive!

Grace, I wasn't planning to sew s8830, but after seeing your yellow dress I think will. I don't have a Walmart that sells fabrics from the bolt anymore so I will be looking at Hobby Lobby for my dress I was there today and it seam like they have more apparel fabrics than what they usually carry. Grace I agree with you Karon's sewing is outstanding the inside look as good as the outside I call that couture sewing.

Hi Grace! Thank you for recording the sewing process of the Mimi G. shirt pattern. Sometimes I can't tell how involved or difficult a pattern can be until I find a KZbinr's video explaining the same pattern. I enjoy watching all your videos and the appreciation and love you have for sewing - it really comes through all your videos. The shirt and the color looks very nice on you. It's like looking at a ray of sunshine 🌞 Lastly, in regards to the buttonholes, does it make a difference as to what model of sewing machine one has? Thank you for sharing 💞

What a pretty Summery dress. I have read that wooden buttons should not be washed in the washmachine. Did you know that? That is why I don't use them in my garments because I don't like to handwash. I use coconut shell buttons instead when I want natural- looking buttons, because they are much stronger. Anyway, just my two cents.😊

Ooooo what a lovely shirt dress that turned out to be. So much nicer than the Pattern cover, well done. I would have put the box pleat on the inside of the breast pockets as well as I wouldn't want them 'popping' out and making me look any bigger😂, that was a good call! Can you explain why you shouldn't use the foot pedal? I don't really understand why, I do get however that you really can't interfere when it is doing its 'thing' , that never ends well 😅. Thanks for showing us the Vogue catalogue, it's wonderful to see the new fabrics. Butterick was 30% off so to me that was a sale 😂. Thanks for the inspiration as always 😘

Thanks Carole. I love my dress. I wore it out to dinner with Tom tonight! So much fun to wear your own makes. Yes the breast pockets needed that modification. If you look at the pattern envelope, even MimiG had them inverted but the directions had them popped out. No, no no for me. I modified them completely for my style. Jim Suzio said that when you use the foot pedal for the buttonhole, they do not come out consistently even. I will be making a buttonhole demo video on Sunday or Monday and explain what he said. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and were SEW INSPIRED!!

Great job on the dress! It's very pretty. That MiMi G pattern didn't appeal to me at all until I saw your dress. I think you were smart to do a reverse pleat on the pockets. Looks better the way you did it. Saw the tea towel you made and embroidered for Carole on her #Friday Sews post - CUTE!!! Does the EXPO take place annually in Lakeland? The class you took on buttonholes was something I'd like to take at some point. Thanks so much for the tip about not having to use your pedal to make them. News to me!
