I think to add to the pile of "what the hell is going on with Jake Harley", beyond yeah him just *not* dealing with his grief well, you also have this Hope player, playing at Doom with how he's the major force behind programming Earth A's sburb and ushering in the end of his own world. Him not dealing well with that, and knowing his own death for probably *decades* both tracks with his character and is just very understandable? I can see maybe his wife helped keep him more in the present while she was around, but without her he drifted more towards his plans and the future. I also have to assume that for as much as Doc Scratch has his own schemes going on, Jake had his own plans with the portal and maybe this will be how his other two children escape the death of their universe. Already Harley has helped more players have access then we see in most universes. Maybe only our kids can win their sessions, but it's a seed of hope for the rest of humanity not directly tangled in Lord English's cross hairs

Honestly i think alot of people in fandom realy overblown Jakes flaws(im not talking about epilogues because i havent read them). Like dang, chill, Jake's not intentionaly trying to be an asshole to Dirk and Jane. Hes simply bad at communication and dence(and honesty I resonate with him so much). Lastly, I realy dont think that alpha Jake is stupid. He was brought into unfavorable sircumstances withoud guidence of grandma English. Unlike Jade with omnipitend guardian dog, Jake was forced to fend for himself from lusus and brobot. He didn't realy have oportunity to dive deep into science stuff and unlock true potential.

It was interesting to hear your take on this character. Him roaming around the medium unexplained is one of the comic's biggest plotholes and was a lot of missed writing potential. Could you do a theory on Rose and in particular how she relates to the Green Star? In volume 7 of the Homestuck soundtrack there is a tune quite literally titled "Black Rose/Green Sun". The cover art for it on Bandcamp is a stained-glass painting of Rose taking a pair of knitting needles to a giant ball of green flame, with elder horrors by her side. Why is this the case? The fandom does not explain these things, instead pointing towards meteors and Gl'bgolyb as the important parts

The Black Rose/Green Sun is because this music playes both as Rose's theme in seer:descend, and when the Green Sun is created. Also, Rose is the one who planed to destroy the green sun, and in general is connected to it, although not in the straightforward way.

If I might add something to all of this, I'd say a few things about angels from homestuck. Firstly, they are based on weeping angels from Doctor Who, who turned into stone by looking at them, which made them "lonelinest creatures in the world", since they can't even risk looking at each other, what is possibly mirrored with Jake's need for loneliness. Homestuck angels were described as creatures of Hope, which is interesting, when you see connection between Hope players and Sylphs (angel-like creatures of air (air is also element associated with Aquarius)) as we can see them as One, who serves an angel and One, who destroys angel (Wait, does it mean Cronus as One, who allows destruction of angel was responsible for Aranea's God tier?!). You can also add that angels revenged on Eridan with Kanaya, since she has super-speed, emanates with white light, dies by being stared at and has (possibly) exclusively female passive class and Space aspect as other "angel"(Calliope) we know. Speaking of cherubs, this connection is quite funny, since Jake defeats Lord of Angels and takes his name, but also his pre-scratch counterpart escapes from him by abandoning Condesce, a minion of LE. Jake Harley (not English) also is Taurus, which is associated with fairies (other angel-like creatures) and according to theory, that every post-scratch kid mirrors dead troll, he'd mirror Tavros pretty well, who btw is another Page (and dies by stab in stomach by Serket too). Also, this is interesting connection, since both of Jakes lived on paradise island, where adults are considered a threat (which is even more interesting, when you see, that both Grandpa and Condesce came from sea). This also mirrors, how he beated stabbing (RUFIOOOO!) clock-hating character's with pirate eyepatch minions in Cascade. Yeah... I thought I had much less to add, when I was starting to write this.

Also, while pre-scratch Jake is Taurus, who is Page of A2 session, post-scratch is Sagittairius, who is Page of A1 and Heir of A2 session, while he can be considered a post-scratch counterpart of B1's Heir and considering his connections with Peter Pan and thus Rufioh, he's like Godtierception master.

Actually, a more accurate description of the Page is someone Server's themselves, seeing as the Page Class is the Active Counterpart to the Knight Class. In Homestuck, a Page is someone that, instead of serving others for the person they are servings benefit, are instead surrounded by butlers, teachers, and defenders. And in a way, the Hope Aspect is also linked to Sexuality as well. {edit} Sorry, I forgot. Pages don't have the ability to CREATE their Aspect. It's more like they have an untapped potential that eventually floods out of the Pages body once they've unlocked their true power.

It depends on what you call passive and active. It can be who you are doing thing for (yourself or others), but it also can be do you do the thing directly, or only cause it to happen. I prefer the second version (aside from when dealing with Thieves and Rogues). The Page is the passive server, the one who causes and invites service. Pages "surround themselves with allies who are much stronger" - Tavros giving a direction (Breath) to the monsters, and Jake creating brain ghost Dirk, a guardian and server, by his imagination.
