Lex is just a journo, he is a professional story teller, he tells stories for money and he tells the story which earns him the most money.... so do you think that the Kremlin would pay him more than Ukraine would? Look into the history..who has a history of paying story tellers? Who parades out its professional story tellers on RT every night of the week? Who do Soloviev, the italian villa owner , Orka Skabeva, Margarita Simonyan the orange woman who blinks a lot as she lies, tell stories for?Please dont confuse money grabbing with intelligence. I hear it all too often: this or that person is so intelligent he has written books and reads so many books.....an intelligent person reads and writes books with intelligent subject matter, whilst a fool reads and writes books with foolish subject matter. Starting a sentence with "everybody knows" is not a convincing argument.

Listened to the whole thing for the sole reason to hear Zelenskyy speak in a long form format, rather than short news clips. Lex Fridman is, from my understanding, a very naive and easy to manipulate type of person. He thinks that Russia can be reasoned with and that the answer to all the world’s geopolitical problems is either Trump or Musk. My take away was that Zelenskyy is, still, the man who leads the fight for our (Europe) future freedom - and I’m glad that he, in particular, is that man. / Chris, from Scandinavia.

So far only 2/3 through Lex's interview and am finding I tend to cringe whenever Lex talks. Sometimes his questions/statements suggest he has avg. to low critical thinking skills, eg. an obvious "WTF" moment was when he suggested Putin loves his country. Another major annoyance as an interviewer (and Zelensky rightly calls him out on this at one point) is Lex's tendency to grandstand/project and answer his own questions while asking them. Is very obvious as he does it mostly in English (ie. speaking directly to the audience vs. to Z.) probably so the audience can't ignore it as subtitled. And quit with the f'ing "my dream is" sh*t already! Loving the thoughts Zelensky is putting out. Fascinating personality and very intelligent. It was frustrating listening to the interviewer. I don't normally listen to Lex Fridman, and I'm reminded why. I rolled my eyes whenever he talked about "I have a dream". As if Ukrainians don't want peace! But you can't expect them to sit down in good faith with Russia, after everything they've done. With a leader who thinks Ukraine isn't a real country. Zelenskyy is being optimistic about Trump; probably doesn't have a choice. I hope his optimism pays off.

Actually as a neighbor of Germany, most of it is largely forgiven. Maybe Poland still has some grudges, but not wounds nearly that deep anymore. I don't like their politicians, especially Merkel whom has opened the floodgates with her frankly bafflingly dumb migration policies. But also her and the current regime that has failed Ukraine in a lot of ways. It has infected the EU and in a lot of ways it's a management layer we don't need. Their attitude towards Russia is quite frankly unacceptable. Their pacifist attitude in this situation wrubs me really the wrong way.

I have huge respect for the President, but I would please have him not give up on the Russian people and speak to them directly when possible. Him saying they don’t care is not true. There are thousands of people that went to protest against the war and are now sitting in jail. And those that even mutter a word, write something or even think of something either get fined, go to jail or get killed. Saying to all of those people who are willing to lose everything that they don’t matter is just not fair. From my perspective, I am half Russian and living abroad since childhood, but have relatives in Russia. My aunt (who helped raise me) is close to death and I cannot visit her, because if I would go to Russia, I would be thrown in jail just like Ksenia Karelina for simply supporting Ukraine in this war. I’m not talking about supporting with weapons, but with words. The more the President can speak directly to the Russian people in Russian language, the more hope and power it gives them to fight back. Please don’t give up! I pray for the day when we all live in peace and get rid of all dictators. Slava Ukraini! Ps. Just comment on this interview. I’m ashamed of Lex, his questions and comments. Trump/Musk love corruption! Putin loves only his power. And enough with the freaking dream of yours. Gosh, I can’t believe Zelensky had to sit through that. I hope the world will at least see from this interview what this man is made of! Steel and Heart! ❤️

Dude stop talking nonsense. You can come to Russia without any issues, you won't be arrested. I was pro-west, lived in EU, posted some anti-war stuff and now I came back to Russia (got disillusioned by the West), I have no problems whatsoever. Nobody cares about you. Yes protesters were fined, a few of them arrested, but not killed, that's bs.
@patchso3 сағат бұрын
I have sympathy for you and agree that the Russian people are not inherently evil. However, Zelensky talking sense to the Russian people? That ship has sailed. Long ago. You say that you can’t visit your family and that must be horrible, but try putting yourself inside the head of Ukrainians who have lost loved ones in the most horrific ways possible. If you were them, do you think that you would give a flying fuck about a Russian ex-pat’s difficulties?
@Skye_world883 сағат бұрын
@@patchsoI don’t expect them to give a crap about my problems. Just trying to show that supporting Ukraine while being in Russia means jail time. Even my friend called her mother in Russia from the US. After the call was over, “police” were at their door to “check up” on the call. It’s bad! Therefore in order to avoid misinformation further spreading in Russia, if Zelensky speaks directly to Russian people then message will permeate the population and eventually that will lead to a coordinated uprising.

I am grateful that Lex hosted an interview with Zelensky. He will face significant backlash, and Lex deserves credit for taking that on. Zelensky performs well in the interview. His personality shines through with candid speech, but he also stays on message. He shows remarkable patience toward Lex, even when offering a few sly jabs in his direction. Ultimately, these three hours highlight the limitations of Lex's beliefs. Empathy and love can only take you so far, and Lex repeatedly runs into this limitation during the interview. Instead of directly defending his beliefs, he pivots or denies Zelensky's, Ukraine's and even Russia's reality, framing it as more of a misunderstanding rather than acknowledging the very real political circumstances. It feels as though he uses empathy and love as a personal shield rather than a tool to offer something meaningful to the world-let alone to the Ukrainian people. At times, this made me feel genuinely uncomfortable. At best, it's naive; at worst, cowardly.

They are no doubt very aware that there are many in the US who either a) don't know about the war, or b) are apathetic about it, or c) actively don't support it.... so reaching out to that audience (mainly US) and setting the narrative straight was worth putting up with Lex's inane questions for three hours.
