Fried Octopus Nuggets - Catch n' Cook a Seafood Feast!!

The best way of cooking octopus is definitely to cut them into little nuggets and deep fry them! We also discovered that the longer you fry them, the better! What a day of snorkeling and foraging from the reef! I hope you guys are enjoying this Hawaii Series.

For the underwater snorkeling, i usually just get an empty waterbottle and wrap some mono on it, so it floats, I don't have to hold onto it when I'm trying to unhook a fish, and I don't waste an entire spool of mono because saltwater can really damage mono if you don't rinse it and are constantly reusing it. When I hook into a fish I try not to let the line go slack and I am constantly spooling it back on the bottle as I bring it up.

That saddleback wrasse, in Hawaiian its a hinalea lauwili, and I caught a lot of those when I was learning to fish because they're the easiest to catch for a beginner. They're fair eating, not great, but OK. The goatfish you caught is called a weke moana and that's the tastiest fish I ever caught. They're delicious!

A really great video, Ace. Such a beautiful background too. The snorkeling was amazing to watch, such a huge amount of activity under the surface. Looks like the fried octopus is a keeper.
