I love all Wes songs. None disappoints. Far Wes is my favorite. Fried Pies is so groovy, cool song. Thanks for posting, this will go right on my ToDo list.

You should also check it the Hard Bop jazz genre. It's very bluesy.

That's Midi programming there 😉. There are some great organs in the Kobtakt library. That song definitely fits your Trio ensemble.

Hi Sandra, I believe bar 11 the chord is Ab13/A which is the flat 9th in the bass. Charts I have seen notate it as A-7b5 which doesn't give the right voicing. That would make the turn around 3-6-2-5 with the bass. Thanks

Aø doesn't have the correct melody note (the plateau "f" note) on top. Ab13 does and Ab13/A would have. But you can clearly hear in the original recording that it's an Ab in bass ;-)

Absolutely! I still can't play his thumup stroje technique. Down stroke ok, no problem, but he also used his thumb for the upwards movement.
