I ADORE these two! Having married into a Chinese family, I huddled up to my tiny mother-in-law to learn her secrets. An excellent cook and a patient woman, she taught me all she could in the time we had. Maybe the Pangs can continue my education in cooking Chinese dishes well. 😊❤🎉

I took a Chinese cooking class back in the seventies. The teacher was from mainland China. She had to order our woks and wok spatulas from San Francisco because they were not available here. I still use my carbon steel wok and spatula. She is considered one of the best Chinese cooking teachers in the Washington DC Metro area. Her name is Rebekah Lin Jewel, and her excellent cookbook is The Art of Chinese cooking.

Love this. Great to see a father and son doing things together like cooking. My husband and son would go golfing together. Makes for great memories and sets the example for the next generation. I use this video to make my fried rice and love the result. A similar fried rice dish I also make comes from a coworker from long ago from Picayune, Mississippi. He would use bacon grease as his oil (already changes the flavor profile). Leftovers from a meal (cooked chicken or turkey etc) onion, green pepper, celery (trinity), bacon, tomatoes, and cooked egg. Season with the soy sauce and serve with Louisiana hot sauce. Total bliss!

Aww, these guys are so sweet. I loved when the son helped his dad lift the heavy wok, and then the dad says "okay thank you". At the end, I was worried that the son was going to serve himself first, and then he gave his dad the first plate. I sighed with relief. Even his dad was worried and when he received the plate he pretty much congratulated him on his manners say "oh you're a good son". Reminds me of my dad. Maybe it's a generational thing, but my dad would have looked at me weird too if I dared serve myself before him. Gotta love family, and respect the hierarchy. Super cute! 🥰 Also, great tip on using day old white rice! I'm so making this today (minus the meats and mushrooms). I have a 6 year old's food palet, 😆👍
