Aloha pickle lady when I do my stir fry vegetables first, I usually seasoned the vegetables and then I throw the noodles in after, this way when you throw the noodles into the vegetables that are already seasoned it helps to coat the noodles and it minimizes the time of trying to incorporate the flavor into everything, constantly mixing and mixing and then if I need more seasoning after I've added the noodles with the vegetables I add more seasoning. This helps to lessen trying to mix and incorporate all the seasonings into the dish after you have placed the noodles in,. Another option is I have added my seasonings to a bowl and added a little bit of hot water to melt chicken powder or pork powder or anything of that sort along with oyster sauce sesame oil Etc and then pour it on top of the vegetables and noodles and mix as this helps to incorporate the flavors into the noodles because it's in sauce form. at any rate I love your cooking very very much thank you for sharing❤❤❤ Mahalo nui loa

One of my comfort favorites.. thank you.. I can't find really good Saimin noodles anymore... I can't even find them to order online.. All the good ones must be in Hawaii and sold locally only.. We used to get these ones that were so wholesome chewy and delicious at our old Marukai market.. Lately the ones I've had just seemed like so much white flour and not the right texture... They don't carry the amount of Hawaiian products they used to.. Perhaps I should learn to make them

A wok is just easier and not as messy as a frying pan where all the stuff splashes around. Just reheat in the skillet or microwave. It does wonders for leftovers.

There is a recipe for siu mai, Cantonese pronunciation. All recipes are on my website, hawaiispicklelady.com. Look under dim sum or pork hash. Usually we don't use sauce but you can use soy sauce with Chinese mustard powder made into a paste, oyster sauce or any sauce of your choice.

It clear and looks like a clear but soft spaghetti noodle, packed in water. It is a little over a dollar. It is chewy and already cooked. Use it like pasta. It's tasteless so you can season with anything.

This white girl has no idea what Saimin is. I even googled it but all that came up was soup. You mentioned the recipe was on your website, but what category is it under?
@HawaiisPickleLady
@HawaiisPickleLady 3 жыл бұрын
Saimin is the Chinese word for all kinds of noodles, sai means small, min means wheat noodles. You are familiar with ramen? Same thing. So many varieties from Japan best known as Maruchan, Top Ramen, Sapporo. Packages come from China, Korea, Thailand, Phillipines, etc. In Hawaii, when one goes to eat at a saimin shop, it is usually soup based with sometimes won ton (dumplings) and garnished with char siu (Chinese sweet roasted pork (recipe on the website under pork), green onions, and some type of greens. Fried saimin is the noodles in the package without the sauce packet and it is dry but moist. Look under noodles in the website. Hope this helps.
