Friedemann Vogel has great 'ballon' - so essential to these mid C19 ballets. and Mizuka Ueno some astounding balances! it would be good if she could descend from them more evenly and fluidly. Friedemann Vogel is 34 this year.

34 eh? I thought he must be much older since I could not find his age anywhere -- he is quite nice -- very nice -- extremely nice -- sigh......!! I absolutely adore him in the bits of Chant du compagnon errant that I have seen -- wish oh wish I could get the entire performance --

scattered Yes, he's 34, I got it from here: www.kultiversum.de/Tanz-ballettanz/Friedemann-Vogel-Portraet.html I was lucky to see him in Stuttgart as Romeo, Albrecht and Compagnon errant and just can't say which one was most touching and impressive. :-))

You have a wonderful facility for descriptive writing .. Can you tell me about chant ? If you do not care to that is ok as well

I am sure that you do know there are complete versions of Chant on YT .. One with Heathcote and the Australian ballet the dancers here are in their 20's and a most spectacular one (in 6 parts) with Hilaire in grey and Legris in red.. It's filmed privately and is odd .. It's Hilaire's farewell performance . It is titled Benois de le Dance.. It is also on my POB playlist.. I have a couple of bits on my channel . In addition to Vogel I would really like the Murru version .. He did it with Bolle .. My version is with Corrado only bits though...

judith booth Oh thank you - no, I didn't know these versions, I'm going to have a look! Song of the Wayfarers at Stuttgart ballet was a feast for the eyes, but it's difficult to explain... Friedemann Vogel wasn't in grey, but in light blue, and there was an intense chemistry between him and his partner, Oscar Chacon. There was also a strong connection to the lyrics of the song. But I guess it's a masterpiece anyway. :-)
