The Friedman's test provides the mean rank and shows the differences and the post hoc tells where the differences are. Thanks for the video.

This video was very informative. I was not familiar with Friedmans ANOVA, so I appreciated the description that it is simply a nonparametric equivalent to a one way repeated measures ANOVA. The presentation was very easy to follow. Thank you so much for the new information, I will definitely be referring back to this video in the near future!

Dr. Grande- This video was helpful on Friedman's ANOVA. You explained that you can use this test in a instance when not needing an assumption in a one-way ANOVA when the data is ordinal. This video was clear, easy to understand, and is a great resource to use.

Hi Todd! I would like to thank you for your videos. They (you) are my statistical consultant since the first year of my research. Starting from my undergrad research to my master and now in my doctorate! I'm really grateful :D

This test is used to measure differences between groups when the dependent variable is ordinal (ordered categories). This was helpful because I did not learn how to run this particular test in undergrad. Thank you!

Thank you for the video Dr. Grande. It is interesting to see how this test can be used to view the differences between the pretest and post test. Again, I've never heard of the friedman's anova, so I appreciate the description offered in this video.

Dear Dr. Grande. Huge fan of your videos. Challenge: I don't only want to compare three questionnaires (Likert scale) that were filled out on three different moments (which I can do nicely according to this video), but I also want to compare the results of three different sample groups (positive framing, negative framing and control group). Question: with the repeated measures ANOVA I can compare different sample groups and different moments at the same time. Can I do the same with Friedman's or do I need to go about this another way? Would love to hear from you!

Hi Dr. Grande I am doing my Phd in field of dentistry, I am comparing the success/ failure of three treatment methods in a prospective study, I already have the 12 months follow up results. is Friedman's Anova with post Hoc the suitable test in my case or do I need another test?

Thank you for all the video's it helped me a lot. I was wondering if it is possible to have no significant results from the friedman test, but if you do posthoc, you still find significance inone group? Friedman came on 0.11.

Thank you for the instructive video, Dr. Grande. I am performing Friedman test on a sample of 30 cases and I need to divide the alpha value by 3. In Friedman's test, I get that there is a significant difference between the values. However, when I do the Wilcoxon test non of them have a significant difference and all the P values are above 0.017. Is the Bonferroni correction really necessary?

Dear Dr. Grande, Thanks for this wonderful tutorial. I have a follow-up question. My study setup is exactly like the data shown here. My question is this: Do I also apply Bonferroni correction for Friedman's ANOVA test and correct the p-value to 0.017? Second question: I read a lot of conflicting information about if a Bonferroni correction is "necessary". Since my deadline is near, do you think I can report both uncorrected and corrected p-values in my master's thesis report and mention the conflicting information? Thanks again for the great videos :)

Did not know you utilized this particular test when data are ordinal and sometimes, when assumptions are not met for a repeated measures one-way ANOVA. This video highlights the importance of conducting post-hoc tests to identity where any statistical significance may lie.

How do you run non parametric repeated measure with 2 way ANOVA
@samintrigila6934

I am having a hard time selecting the right test for my data. My data is not normally distributed and I believe I need the non-parametric version of a 2-way anova. All searches are telling me to run a Kruskal Wallis or a Friedmans, but I have 2 independent (individual & substrate) variables and 1 dependent variable (location count) and all tutorials don't seem to help my case. My test is to see individual substrate preferences. I have 6 individuals and 5 substrates. I ran 3X30-minute observations and recorded individual locations every two minutes during the 30 minutes. I did this every day for 4 days. Please can anyone point me to a test that matches this?

Extremely useful. As always. Thank you Dr. Grade. I have only one question: i've read that Bonferroni correction is applied when there are more than 5 samples. cause with 3 or 4 the test is still robust enough to ignore the type 1 error while not losing on Power (type 2 error). Do you agree with that?Thanks in advance

Thanks..Dr.Grande. one thing I want to know about Friedman's Anova post hoc test. If p value is significant in rank, we have to do post hoc pairwise analysis. In pairwise analysis, if adjustedp value is not significant in any group i.e. null hypothesis retained , what will be the final interpretation?

though the test done right but i think that the post hoc you did was wrong because this variabls are for the same factor. this three treatment`s are not separate form ech other so you have tow ways to do the post hoc test (1)if you want to do this in thi is way you introduced you have to correct the Alpha =)1-(1-Alpha)^k (k =numper of comperisions )and make a new Alpha to make decision on rejectingH0 or not(2)or you can follow this ..Analyze=)Related sampels=)Settings=)Customized tests=)Friedmans …)multiple comparisons=)All pairwise

Thank you for your video! Do you know if there is some way more pratical to select the data when we have more than 3 diferents "situations"? In your example you had only 3 diferents situations. I have 8 diferents situations that my sample are exposure, select one by one to run the post hoc test is a bit dificult and dangerous, because maybe I could forget one of then. Do you know if there's something like when we run ANOVA repeated measures and the software select all cases automatically? Thank you!!!
