This sound absolutely mind blowing, I've done a lot of low volume into compressor with high make up gain and added noise/hiss for the thump, but need to try with some distortions after listening to this.

Thank you! I haven't tried any distortion pedals, but I think it sounds great. Distortion plugins sound great too so it's mostly a matter of flavor and workflow preference.

do you notice a difference in sound between the mk1 and the mk2? do you prefer one over the other? i've only ever had the mk2 and i really like the form factor and the qper knob. i dont think i'd like the mk1 as much but they are a lot more affordable and i've already bought and sold the mk2 3 times now. i've heard people say the mk1 is "creamier" but less low end. did you notice any of that? this rules, btw as usual
@IvarTryti2 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference in sound between the mk1 and mk2 is the new overdrive on the mk2. The new overdrive behaves more like you'd expect a normal overdrive to behave, which makes it easier to use. You know how there are two overdrive sounds, right? Clockwise for one sound, counter-clockwise for the other? The mk2 has the mk1's clockwise sound when you turn it counter-clockwise, and the new overdrive sound when turning it clockwise. I like both. The mk1 overdrive is weird and hard to use, but you can get some really unique screaming sounds with it. There's a bit more bass on the init patch on the mk2 than on the mk1. I wouldn't say sounds better or worse, but it *is* more convenient since you don't have to use the 2nd hp filter to boost the lows as often. I like this change. That said, I still boost the lows like that a lot on the mk2, and they both have the same amount of "maximum bass" when boosting far enough, IME. I don't think I could go back to the mk1 after using the mk2, because of the improved screen, encoders, buttons, and layout. The mk1 knobs are so slow that I always had to press-turn the knobs, and that gets pretty tiresome after a while. The screen is smaller and the icons are tiny, the viewing angle isn't great and the screen has a sluggish refresh rate. It's hard to read and I had to tilt my head forward to get a better viewing angle. Or use a laptop stand to tilt the mk1. The LEDs over the buttons are only red, so it's hard to see if it's a normal trig red trig or yellow lock-trig. On the mk1 they're either fully lit or half-lit which takes a bit more effort to parse. The new layout is a lot more comfortable. The buttons used to save kits and patterns on the mk1 are far apart, and this is a bit annoying since I save a lot. Saving projects is even worse, since there's no shortcut for it. And opening the main menu requires a two-handed button combo: FUNC all the way to the left + GLOBAL all the way to the right of the machine. If you've saved before already, you have to press YES YES YES YES, wait for it to save, then NO NO to get back to where you were. This is a lot more convenient on the mk2, where it's a button combo to save, then YES YES to select project and confirm save, and it brings you back to where you were automatically when it's done. I think I'd only go for the mk1 if I plan to only use the Overbridge plugin and don't need the mk2 overdrive sound, because the mk2 is physically so much more comfortable to use. And thanks a lot!

is this track all analog4?
@IvarTryti Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm recording the Analog Four stereo outs into the Analog Heat, then through my "mastering" FX chain in FL Studio. There's a lot of post processing, but it's all just 4 analog voices.

Between syntakt and analog Four, which one would you recommend if you only had one of the two?
@IvarTryti2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure which one I'd recommend because they're both great, but personally I gel more with the A4 despite its 4 voice limitation. The Syntakt is more of a complete package with a ton more voices and a master overdrive, though. I just have an easier time making the A4 sound like "me".
@maconins1232 жыл бұрын
@@IvarTryti i actually went for the a4 keys. I’m blown away by the synth aside from all the sequencer and groovebox capabilities. Thanks for the response either way
