Hank Azaria & Lisa Kudrow had such GREAT chemistry as actors/the characters they played ... I wish Hank could've become part of the cast permanently - married Phoebe as David - cuz he was just as quirky as Phoebe & the writers could've done a lot with that ... same case with Matthew Perry & Paget Brewster (Chandler & Kathy) - WAY more chemistry than the forced relationship between Monica & Chandler... I just never bought it ... Chandler would never have tolerated Monica's temperament more than a month without going nuts & leaving her!

I liked Phoebe and David together because he adored Phoebe. But I believe Phoebe and Mike worked really well because he knew what to say to Phoebe's quirkiness and liked it. I don't know how David would have reacted to Phoebe calling herself Princess Consuela Bananahammock, or bringing a box of rat babies and keeping them as pets. David and Phoebe's time together on and off was pretty brief so I doubt that he knew about that side of her character.

He may have had some bad times, but the good ones outshine them. And let's not forget the Europe story

I actually liked David... he and Phoebe would’ve been a pretty good pair. Phoebe and Joey too, although maybe not as a married couple but their chemistry was palpable in the first seasons! Nonetheless, Phoebe and Mike were perfect for each other!! We cannot reminisce about the different paths our lives could’ve taken, though we can appreciate the moments of the past, for the path we are one is the one we must keep walking on....
