wow Roman realized no one would pay attention to him so he turned to the dark sides because they were the only ones who seemed to listen. Patton became afraid to show his sadness for fear of going against his purpose so he lost all control and became two demensional. Logan was afraid of seeming vulnerable by showing emotions because he didn't want to make mistakes so he turned into a robot. Virgil was afraid of being an outcast so he went against his purpose and went insane trying to be someone other people would like. Man thats deep, I love this so much.

Okay, but can we just talk about how good of a story idea this could be? Just hear me out . . . A group of friends who each represent a personality trait come together as one to defeat an antagonist who also is the embodiment of an emotion (turned up to the max). The are captured by him and are each given a wish. They all wish to become stronger versions of themselves, but all loose their friendship with each other when they become so much stronger in their respective corners but fail to work together. Maybe they even turn tyrannical. As a result they can no longer fight the villain, who wins for some time. Eventually some or all of them break through and fight back and win. This could be used to highlight they thin line between good and evil, that too much of a good thing is a bad thing, and that teamwork is key. Plus it could be used to have a "were not so different, you and I" moment, further highlighting the edge between good and evil.

My theorie is, that Virgil once was paranoia, when he was a dark side. Maybe that's why Logan stopped his talking in the intrusive thoughts video, when he wanted to say "You are just paranoid" His paranoia, then turned into anxiety and fears, of every situation, that has an possibly bad outcome for Thomas. With all his experience he had with the dark sides, he wanted to protect Thomas of those outcomes and when he saw, that the light sides are trying to protect Thomas he wanted to be one of them. He always wanted to be good when you ask me 🤷 (I'm sorry when there were mistakes in my grammar or something, I'm not a native English speaker ❤️)

@@AmyJo2138 Something I noted in rewatching is between "Battling Anxiety" and "A New Year of Lying to Myself" Virgil seems to be both a bit dodgy but also quite antagonistic, so clearly having Dark Side tendencies. However, after the way the latter video ended, between "The Dark Side of Disney" all the way to "Accepting Anxiety (part 1)", he landed in a neutral zone instead (became more amicable and made better contributions despite still being negative and slowly began warming up to the others, and they even began being nicer to him at moments), and was actively trying to be more positive. Then after what happened with the "Accepting Anxiety" videos, when he was finally accepted as one of them, he became a Light Side. ...So my guess to what made him a Light Side was that they all started seeing 'Anxiety' as a more positive contributor to Thomas's balance and began recognizing that not everything about Virgil was inherently negative or a bad influence. They actually began to enjoy his company a lot more when they started giving him a chance to express himself, and then he started being more vocal about his desires to protect Thomas and thus cracked down further on trying to shelter Thomas from Deceit and Remus (and any other Dark Side we have yet to meet). As for that, I do have a bit of an intriguing theory that fits given the circumstances. I think 'Anxiety' is a neutral term for what Virgil's purpose was that he adopted since his former Dark Side moniker no longer applied once he started getting more involved. Anxiety is a middle-ground between Paranoia and Vigilance, the former of which is almost always seen in a negative light and the latter of which is seen in a much more positive light. They all fall under the same category of being attentive and aware, but ratchet up in severity depending on the level of trepidation. Vigilance would be the most positive in regards to being aware of how you feel and acted without really being bothered and worried about how it could've gone; still having the boundaries in place but not being overwhelmed, and usually deals with logical problems. Anxiety would be in the middle; it's dealable and can provide some good but it walks a fine line since too little makes you careless and too much drives you crazy. The boundaries are there but they're held in a delicate balance and can be born from both the logical and illogical. Paranoia would be the absolute worst you could get where there's more fear than anything else; you worry about every little thing and in doing so become afraid to do anything and almost all of it stems from illogical and irrational thoughts, and there's no boundaries whatsoever. Methinks that Virgil used to be Paranoia but as Thomas started making videos and becoming more confident in what he was releasing, it lessened to Anxiety.

When they turned evil i cried I also have a theory: of corse, virgil used to be paranorma whilst being a darkside, and everyone (except patton of course cuz pattons.. well..... patton) hated virgul cuz he was evil. But, at first ( like beetween the ages of 0 and 13 for thomas) virgil was anxiety, then deceit and remus turned him to a darkdide cuz virgil was so diffrent from everyone elese still. So they made a deal to make him fit in more, and virgil said yez. So yhen everyone hated him,EXCEPT PATTON!! Patton exepited him and understood him, so when he came back as a good side at the beginning of the series patton was the only one who partially accepted him, till everyone got used to him again. And remus and deciet came up to try to get virgil to be a darkside again. This took forever so plez no hate

My theory is that there is no real difference between a dark side and a side. Only Thomas' perspective on them. Morality, creativity, and logic are rather easy to understand and enjoy. Anxiety, lies and whatever Remus is are not so easy to understand and are usually uncomftable to he doesn't put them at the front of his mind. He wanted to understand anxiety so he slowly learned about him and is willing to enjoy his company

My theory (it's pretty long): Deciet is just his normal evil self, accompanied by two souls who need a place. Patton is ignorance and/or bliss, concidering the phrase ignorance is bliss. Logan is still kinda logic and reality, but a darker, pessimistic kind. Virgil is paranoia and will cause Thomas to hallucinate. Roman is to trade color with the green soul (who will become the Duke), and the red color will turn into hatred and self hatred. Finally, the most interesting one. The orange soul is the actual leader, but give the title to Deciet since the souls need bodies in order to do things. The reason orange is the leader is because he aims to possess Thomas, who is often represented by the orange, but can't since the good sides can combat a soul. So he asks Deciet to find the good sides' weaknesses and turn them evil. Deciet had already found the green soul and befriended it, so the trio got to their job. Note that this has been partly based off of what other people have said. Also I do understand that this was made before the Duke was introduced.

Because he mentioned “your moral compass is pointing south towards H.e. double hockey sticks” and just go with me for a minute I think logans opposite is going to be the orange character that’s gonna come up in future episodes. And I think that character is going to be ignorance. Like they don’t do anything ever and they think that “you know I have to do this thing but I can always do it tomorrow” kind of mentality basically the opposite of Logan being productive and stuff and they have to do with Virgil’s opposite that I’m gonna say in a minute. And I have this head canon that Virgil has a little sister (just go with me). That is blind. (because Remus is here no evil, she would be see no evil, and deceit is speak no evil (just go with me)) and she where’s black. So that so far we have the entire rainbow and black. (Because when all the colors are combined they make white. and Thomas is the color white. (just go with me)) And she represents depression (because anxiety and depression kinda go together, whatever.
