For anyone that cares, lurking doesn't work. The machines don't work that way. Explain: If someone comes in after you and wins a jackpot, there is almost zero chance you would have won it if you had stayed at that machine. In order for you to have won the jackpot, you would have had to put your coin in the machine at the exact same instant in time as the second person actually did. The coin trips the counter to win or not win. It would be statistically impossible for you to do that. So, just because the second person wins it, absolutely does not mean you would have won it.
