@@angel-ij1wc it's not to counter ur view but to help u understand... What it means by choice... The freedom and freewill to choose for oneself beyond societal norms and what seems outgoing or modernistic. Happiness is not always the same for everyone... Each person has different values in the things we try to see value at different points of time. A child sees value in toys which changes by the time she is a teenager n choices keep changing withh various stages of life. It's unfair to label some choices as liberal and other downcast. Eg the choice to wear a burqa or not, to cover or not to cover is my choice. To do the job or not is my choice. I hav been with so many of my non Muslim friends, even after graduating from Pharmacy, they had to find a good job simply to find a good groom to pose her resume and salary as dower to the family. Do u really think the girl is independent.. Though she may b a working professional but she has to work day and night at work and home to keep her marriage alive and never to return to her parents. If a husband is giving u choice and freedom and u exercise your rights out of ur free will : is it freedom or oppression? Remember to be called modern enough, true liberal minded one must learn to respect each and every body's choices... Without labelling them for any. Especially such examples where they r happy in their own lives... But simply to hang out with the world they turn zombies simply to please out side world and materialistic standards.

I am against glorifying homemaker position. Home’s responsibility should be on both the partners. It’s very important that the woman also does the justification for her skills and education. Raising the kids is responsibility of both the parents, and should not ask for sacrifice of a woman’s life/choices. Being financially independent is so important, who knows when the life gives you a difficult turn.

Frankly speaking, being "financially independent" is extremely important for women. Being housewives is never a natural decision for women, it's heavily influenced by the emotional blackmail by the family and society. Thinking about kids/home is not the job of women only. Tara is right in the video because she can have better say in each matter independently. By watching such content, people often start to mock financially independent women and idolizing housewives. If housewives want respect based on their compromises, then no need to do those compromises. According to NCRB data, more housewives are committing suicide. Around 63 housewives committed suicide every day in 2018 only. Please give yourself a reality-check. Even stress from profession is far better than pseudo-respect from home. Earn your bread and be the bread-winner of your own self, at least. Learn to live life with self-respect and not on anyone's mercy. #EarnYourRespect #SheForShe

True... Being a homemaker is a conditioned choice rather than an absolute choice. Conditioned by childhood observations of family system, friend's families, school talks, teacher's behavior, tv shows, movies, and etc etc. After constant hammering of societal rules from childhood, it is definitely a conditioned choice. Which is bad for both male and female. A male is unable to choose a risky source of earning (being a musician, artist, little risky business), working from home or being a homemaker. And women cannot choose a demanding work like a job with responsibilities, being a ceo, being an ias and alll.... This is about most of the men and women, there are few who have succeeded in choosing what they absolutely want to do. But otherwise most cases are due to conditioning from childhood and family pressures( direct or indirect).
@madhumithaselvakumar37512 жыл бұрын
I agree. It is more of a sacrifice, an emotional decision and anything that the kids or husband do in the future against the wishes or expectations of this mom will take a heavy toll on her. Because she has sacrificed herself for them, but they may not and need not do things solely for her. They will all eventually have their own lives to live, but she will not have just her own to live then. It's quite sad in a way.
