i believe it was brianna (one with glasses and a polka dot shirt) who was honestly really adorable. that was the sweetest thing i've seen. their immediate reactions were all a bit "uh," but she made me feel good about how people will react to my top surgery in the future. i'm only fourteen. haven't started any hormone blockers or testosterone. i'm hardly even out. but i reallyreally want top surgery. and i'm very scared of how my catholic family will react to me being trans, let alone me getting top surgery. but this was comforting. i'm glad you're happy, ash. i'm proud of you, buddy.

I love the fact that they have something like scar tape now, this is the first I've heard of it but 11 years ago I had some major surgery when I was 10 and the scars still aren't like flat nice looking. I love that there's now something to help with aesthetic healing as well I guess is what I'm saying? I'm awkward but extremely happy for you is the point of this I'm glad it went well.

Ash!!! I dont know if you've talked about this before, but my non-lgbtqia+ fiance has been bringing this up a lot recently and it's driving me nuts that I dont have a good response to it. Basically some people point out that being trans and having dysphoria sometimes on its own enforces gender stereotypes, because say someone who is born female but is a man might hate their chest or feel very uncomfortable with pink being associated with them. But that says that those things must be associated with girls. Of course, they are. By everyone. But that doesnt mean we need to agree with it. But then again here we are, feeling super uncomfortable with it even when no one is around to see it. Idk! I dont have a great response to it and thats why I feel like I need your help figuring it out. Anyone who has a good answer or wants to ask questions or whatever, please reply. :) I'm maxigender, they/them, polysexual. I am friend, not foe.

I know I'm not Ash (obviously) but I just wanted to say that, even though it may feel unsatisfying, you can't do much. You can try to comfort him by calling him with his preferred name and pronouns and support him with all you have, but you can't change the people of your school and that is sad and a bad thing. You just can stand with him and try to go through it with him so that he doesn't have to be alone...
