Great video. I burst out laughing at the "sausage fingers" line.

Planning to do this one in June, since Shasta is a bust (thanks for the tip a few weeks back on unseasonably low snow levels). Anyway, this video is really helpful, and fun to watch! Thanks again! ...and mad respect for the FTH!

Your trips are amazing and your videos superb- how do you not have WAY MORE subscribers?! Thanks for all you do!

Thanks so much Mike! I really appreciate it and I'm glad you're enjoying them. As far as subscribers? I suppose I do this because I enjoy it, not really to gain followers. But I wouldn't be opposed to it!

How did you navigate in the night?

I've hiked up to this mountain many times so I'm familiar with the route. If your not familiar with the route definitely buy a map and study the trail & topography.

I did this hike with some friends during the day and lost the trail going up the mountain. We ended up having to rock climb the last hundred feet or so. I got a bad headache on the way down and wanted to just lay down and nap, but my friends said I needed to keep moving.

@@afordan It is pretty tricky finding the correct route up the last 500'. The first time I did it I ended up rock climbing a bit also and realizing this wasn't the correct way, so I backtracked and luckily was able to find the trail. The best course of action to take once you start feeling altitude sickness is head back down, glad you were with your buddy and got down safe.

How cold was it ?
@friendsthathike57293 жыл бұрын
I remember it being pretty cold waking up at Horseshoe Meadows because it sits at 10,000'. As we were hiking it did get pretty warm. On summit day we had an alpine start and we did have to wear all of our layers, even at the summit. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact temps but it was cold.

Shouldn’t your title be friends WHO hike? The word, THAT, refers to inanimate objects. People are animate objects.

Thanks for the mention Jenn. Yes, there are plenty of sausage jokes I could have made. 🤣 What?!? No helicopter ride? Boring! 😆

How do you get permits for this hike thanks
@friendsthathike57294 жыл бұрын
Through Recreation.gov. You would start at Cottonwood Lakes out of Horseshoe Meadows.
