This one hit me. Steph mentioned a scene I have experienced too. A woman shouted at me, while my husband was pushing the wheelchair, " You've got a lovely husband!" And I smiled and yelled back, "Yeah, I know!" And while we were still at a distance to clearly hear them, she told her spouse, "Wow, he easily could have a healthy one." I found myself crying at a busy bus station. And revisiting this, it still aches somewhat. Of course he is lucky to have such a wonderful wife too. I hope more representation of interabled couples will help normalise this in the public eye.
