oh I was so blessed by this conversation ❤️ I’ve been praying for deeper friendships with others who are in the faith. I’ve been following Jesus for a long time and I’ve been in a desert season of not having iron-like people surrounding me. God knows my heart and my desire for friendships that go deeper than what I’m experiencing now. Thankful for this convo.. it gave me so much more faith in what friendships God has in store for me.

definitely needed this. i tend to be very super invested into my friendships almost to a point where it is detrimental. i dont know if it has to do with the fact that im an only child and i wish i had siblings but i tend to sacrifice myself for my friends to the point where i lose myself. i used to get confused because i would hear in the Bible that one must lay down his life for his friends but I think i may have almost taken it too literally. I am also working on that it is okay to have friendships that arent so deep. I have a lot of long term friendships i have about 3 close friends that ive known for 23 years, 2 friends that ive known for 7 years. I dont really have any short term friends and when i meet someone my first instinct is this person is going to be in my life forever. i dont have a problem cutting people off if they are toxic or bad friends but I do have a tendency to keep people for too long even if they don't deserve to be there i forgive a lot and sometimes i have to learn that forgiveness doesnt mean letting them stay. i am also working on pouring into myself and self-first and self preservation doesnt make you a narcissist, selfish, or greedy..
