Gee, the A.I. in this game is more responsive than Sonic Forces, and they actually aim at you when they have you in their sights. Shadow the Hedgehog was truly an innovative masterpiece for its time.

The Doom took me half an hour my first time... I was TRYING to help the scientists, but I just couldn't find them all, so I used the Goal Ring. There IS a major shortcut if you have the satellite laser weapon where you can target the switch for a door through a wall.

If I recall, even if you help Eggman, he still fights you. Shadow and Eggman have a respect for each other. That being said, Shadow will more than gladly rip through an Eggman base destroying all robots in sight.

You might not know, but in certain levels, depending on who the npc character that follows you around, a second player can control them. Ex. Sonic in the first mission can be controlled by another person. They can attack stuff and cant die (although they do take "damage"), but they cant pick up weapons either. And they arent given a second screen, so they just teleport to shadow if you get too far.

I can't say I like SA1 more than this game. The story was good enough, I got a chuckle out of the voice acting, and the gameplay was good for everyone but Big, but the atmosphere felt strange, the settings clashed, the music was unenjoyable, and the characters just looked bad. Being in a peaceful bustling vacation city by the beach makes the main antagonist feel less threatening, and it's an uncanny, jarring contrast to the ancient ruins and thick wilderness in the other parts of the game, especially when there's nothing much but scenery there, making it all feel mildly empty. By StH, the dev team had vastly improved the graphics, and made all the areas feel like they worked better together. Most of the areas have this feel of booming urban society in a technologically advanced world plagued by the threat of apocalypse. It's almost always nighttime, and what few wilderness/ruins sections there are, still have a sense of danger and impending doom. There's poison, fire, military units, and aliens everywhere, all looking to destroy anything they can get their hands on, so nothing feels empty or particularly out of place. The fact that Eggman, portrayed as a powerful clown, comic relief in the darkness, is constantly threatened by both GUN and the Black Arms, doesn't make him jarringly out of place, but instead serves to highlight the atmosphere and how well it meshes together.
