I'm dying to know the results of Beauty's DNA test. I'm still going with Friesian/Saddlebred cross, but the more I look at him, the more Saddlebred-y he looks to me. No matter what he is, he is MAGNIFICENT. Whoever ends up adopting him will be very lucky.

That was my guess as well. If there is Frisian I was thinking definitely saddlebred in there at the top of the list!

I think there is definitely something Iberian in him (which includes Friesian, as they are also basically an Iberian cross). We will have to be good and wait and see. But I agree about the cross with something gaited.

@@SandraOrtmann1976 Except in the video, when they released him, he trotted away. Nice long trot stride too. Didn't look gaited to me. Also his tail carriage was way higher than Friesian, looking almost like an Arab. But I'm still thinking Saddlebred/Friesian cross, with him taking more after his Saddlebred parent, but picking up the black of the Friesian. :)

If you have a small tree or fake tree use an outdoor umbrella stand. It is weighted so it isn’t easy to tip over.

They didn't mention in the episode that DNA tests for breeds are not an exact science. It won't be able to say he is half-Friesian half whatever. There is a "map" provided by the company that does the DNA test that explains how to read the results. It is really interesting and can provide insight into his geneology, but it doesn't provide an exact answer. And MANY gaited horses have insane manes, like MFT or TWH. A horse doesn't need to be Friesian to have hair like that.

I would highly recommend potty training the mini’s you plan on using for school programs. It’s very easy to do with positive reenforcement training, they are the only other animal in the USA allowed to be service animals in the USA besides dogs partly because of that.

21:24 I worked with animals for years, sadly quitting was the best thing I did for my mental health. We need more people willing to work with animals, but we also need to take care of the ones we have. That includes paying a living wage and facilitating a work life balance. We REALLY need to take care of our Vets and Vet techs!! *This is not directed at Horse Plus, but the veterinary world and the animal field in general.

He's definitely a Friesian cross. I once owned a beautiful cross myself only he was all white (: Z Blanco Norsk was his name and when I put some little videos on youtube just to fool around, I got so many nasty people saying he wasn't Friesian even after I explained that UCDavis did a DNA study on him, his sire and his dam due to his unusual color (maximum expression sabino). Then as now, he is registered through the Friesian Heritage Association. I wonder if your beauty is Friesian/Saddlebred cross?? That's my guess - just for fun :D Can't wait to see the results!!

I phoned in days ago and left a voice mail message regarding the possibility of him being a Georgian Grande. A fressian crossed with an American saddle horse to develope a more traditional saddle horse. There was a young one at the barn was at; she was a big 2 yr old and a real sweetie.

When giving intranasal strangles, you really should be holding that head up for a minute or so… and if it is a live vaccine, I’d be washing my hands and changing my clothes after handling it and especially before touching other horses. Maybe (hopefully??) you did… but didn’t appear so. Troy seems like a good fit.

There are plenty of horses out there that have really long manes that aren't Friesian at. Ever see an Andalusian horse, or a Lipizzaner? Gated with long manes.

Kick butt in DC, Tawnee! The laws must be changed in many states like Tennessee where crippled/starving horses are shipped to slaughter and a PUBLIC auction is allowed to keep you out. I go with the Friesian cross, but I am betting significant amount of Arabian.

Friesian seems doubtful to me. They are heavier boned with big feet and lots of feathers on the legs. Possibly a mix but my guess would be primarily saddlebred.
