Tara, I really like the horse “ box” you have. I have never seen one before & think it’s prefect for your horses. I could never learn to drive a trailer . I don’t think they have them in US? I have been watching the videos from the oldest tonight. It’s very exciting to watch how you train & how gentle you are . I didn’t get what happened to the first Friesian , but I am glad you have Apollo. You and Rens work so hard to make such a comfortable place to the horses. They are so lucky to have you and Rens to love and care for them. Once I asked you several months ago about the other Arab. that you took back. From what I read today, Rens was saying you got a lot or unpleasant mail from some trolls. He had deleted them,. You know there’s always someone that thinks they know more about what and how you should do something differently. I really enjoy your. Videos! I’m 70 and never had a horse so I’m kind of living through you and you family. I was wondering, is Bella going to be your horse or Rens, or maybe Steve’s? When will she be old enough to ride? I was thinking 3-4 yrs old? But I don’t know. She is such a cute little girl. I think she likes being the only girl so she can play with her two “ brothers” taking turns trying to get them to play. Sincerely Jean Colegrove TTFN ✌🏼

I was taught when young, that constant whittering to your horse/pony/donkey, whatever is not good for the animal. Open your mouth, they said, and the equine ears go back to hear what the noise is, result - loss of concentration and on a road that could prove fatal. So we were taught that instead of being constantly pleased with your horse, choose a quiet time in the ride and give him a stroke on the neck. No, not a pat or a hug, or words, just a nice stroke. He will understand and appreciate the touch more than the voice. I:we found this to be true so I thought Ibwould pass it on out of interest.

What an amazing bond you have with your beautiful boy. Horsemanship at its best. I backed and schooled my first horse at 3. And that close bond and trust and talking to your horse I totally get as I am the same. You can train any horse to work off the spoken word. If yoy are skilled enough. Instead of pulling thier mouth's and sqeezing thuer ribs. So much nicer for the horse. Who trusts and understands his rider. What a beautiful horse you have my lovely. I am 60. And I am never giving up riding. After all the Queen still rides at 92..Bless her.. Thank you for making this vidio. I do love friesian horses..But they do seem a bit of a handful at times. Tara, you handle Apollo well! He wanted so badly to be ahead of the two women in front at start. The one just wouldn't give way - not very thoughtful! He had his lead later though and seemed quite content. He surely does listen to your voice. I think from his body language, he enjoys the whispers. 😉 Almost like you two have secrets. 💕
