Of course little RS ist very cute❣How he lets you apply the utter lotion on his little white nose shows a lot of trust he already gained for you, Yvonne. But also all the Friesian foals are very sweet! Maybe it's the different and unusual colour, but for sure it's the sad story behind, that makes RS so special. Stillborn little Star and Uniekjes loss, Ziffora's death at the same time... in the end God had mercy with them both, and so a lot of sadness was followed by a lot of love and thankfulness. At the horses and a lot of humans in both stables. 💚

Rein Jr and Faya are getting so big. They are a good helper for you in the barn already. I remember when they were younger and just followed and hung out in the barn. I used to think the rain hurt horses too but it doesn't. Even snow doesn't unless their coats are very short. They wear a rain sheet or blanket then. They love to be outside and it's better for them as it is their natural state!

The bodies of the friesians looked as though they were made from black oil they were so shiny! Question: Is there a difference in the hay on which the horses sleep versus the hay they eat? Just curious. And of course RS is sweet! It's been amazing to watch him and the other foals grow, mature and develop their own personalities.

They sleep on low quality straw/hay it looks like. They have high quality hay mixed with alfalfa for eating, I'm sure Rein gives only the best to his precious mares.

Yes. Straw (used for bedding) and hay are two different grasses. Straw has little nutritional value but it highly absorbent.

Alisha... The Friesians sleep on straw! Straw is the leftover stems of harvested grains , usually .. Hay, for fodder, is dried grasses! and the horses do not get to sleep on their dinner!! 😊 OK, love??

When Uniek scratches her fetlock against the bars in her stall it is possible that she is scratching for mites. I have found that cold solid coconut oil rubbed into the back of the pasterns every morning (only takes a few minutes) gets rid of the mites and they don't come back. No more itching. I bet it would work for her.

Love all your videos! Your English is a little funny sometimes, though :). For example an to itch refers to the sensation inside your body, while to scratch is what you do to relive the itch. So Uniek felt itchy and she was scratching her leg against the metal rim of the door.

Hello from Florida, US. Your horses are beautiful and majestic and like most girls growing up I always wanted one. I wanted to give a suggestion. Have you ever thought about putting cameras in each stall so that folks can pop in and watch these beautiful horses do when there in bed and put one out in the fields (can be hooked to solor)? There is usually such a peaceful feeling in the stable. Foals nursing, mems watching over them. The only time that I have noticed agitation is when they all come inside at once and mill around looking for a stall. It is great fun to watch😍😍😍😍

Rising Star, Queen Uniek and you; a little family. This video just melted my heart and brought me to tears. Magnificant Queen Uniek really loves him and he, her. He is also such a character!! I can't think about when they will have to part. But, they have the fate of being horses, and it will have to happen at some point. But it will still break my heart, anyway. I had my Sunny. He was so special, like Rising Star, so beautiful. It was love at first sight and all through the time we were together. I sold him after 7 years to very kind, good people who thought he was wonderful. Lots of love to you, your family, everyone at the stable and all your horses.

The Uierzalf ointment looks very similar to a product in the United States called Bag Balm, which was originally created to soothe irritation on cows' udders after milking. It's used for all sorts of issues -- my family used for diaper rash on the babies. Interesting to see that you can also on sore foals' noses!

Bag balm would be Uierzalf in Dutch, and it is indeed good for lots of things where you want to keep the skin supple, including in humans - try it on rough elbows or foot callusses (sp?).

Rising Star is just too cute and sweet, especially as he was falling asleep! Reina's foal coat did look like a Bouvier! Sweet Reintje really enjoyed the scratches!

Funny & cute how Rising Star keeps backing up and backing up a you mention in the very beginning how horses keep their backs to the wind and again as they first gather to leave the pasture. His Reverse gear gets stuck! 😅😁
