Part of video where Uniek says yes, my son is now a beautiful young man, I did a great job! She's a mom that knows when it's time to untie the apron strings, so Risey learns independence. The animal world gets it right again, unlike some human parents, me included, afraid to let go and children then become too dependent in later years. Omg, I'm going on here. It's great to see Yvonne's sons learning horsemanship at a young age. They aren't afraid and having a lot of fun!

While we don't see any injuries on the outside, we know you're still healing on the inside. That's OK because we continue to pray for your healing. You had a nasty accident, and we know it will take a long time! Seeing you with your own horses and those at Stal tells us they are all part of your healing. You and the horses are attached at the heart, and without you and the rest of the staff, they wouldn't have the great care and love they do! We still get to watch the gorgeous Fresians and narrated by you, Yvonne. We've learned a lot about the breed from you. Love you, Yvonne. I hope 2023 is a far better year for you than 2022 was, and hope you fully recover from your injury. Those three colts are really lovely. If I might share my observations...because he's a different type, Risey is a lighter bodied horse but is about the same height as the other two colts. To my eye, Risey has very nice conformation although his withers are a bit more prominent than I'd prefer, but that should smooth out as his neck fills out. I love that colt so much and am glad you are able to share videos of him and the others again.

Risey isn't a lighter bodied horse, on average they'd weigh the same but they mainly fill out on their topline which is they "look" lighter. It's the structure of their physique that is different, not their weight. KWPN has the conformation of a more sporty breed whilst Friesians that of a draft breed.

Good morning Yvonne! I hope you're doing well. Watching Risey thrive & play is such a joy and makes me wish that we in the US would let young colts/stallions be turned out with each other. At least from my experience, it's not a normal practice here. Out of curiosity: Are any of the male friesian horses gelded or do you keep them all as stallions?

Yes, male horses of any age need turnout with companions too! They can be together if no mares are in heat and too close. But like dogs, they need to be socialized, from a young age usually. Which is likely why Johnny (the pony stallion) is always aggressive towards other mature male horses. He's old, and when he was young it was probably even less known that stallions need friends. Now, it also needs to be done safely. Big pastures so they can get away from eachother. If given hay, they need it in multiple places (at least 2) so none can keep the other(s) away. Preferably no shoes, on hind legs especially.

Rising Star is not fully grown, he is a 2 year old (several of his kind take at least 8 years to fully grow), he is a Dutch Warmblood/KWPN.

@@deniseunterman9652 Because that's what's practical for a riding horse and a horse that can be turned out in pasture with other horses. People only keep stallions if they are planning on a breeding operation. In the case of Dutch Warmblood horses like Risey, there is an official testing and licensing process. Only the highest quality colts make the grade (Friesians have a similar thing, only a few stallions become "studbook" stallions, this rigorousness in choosing breeding stock ensures the breed stays very high quality and keeps improving). In my opinion Risey is more of an average horse, highly unlikely to be stallion quality though he is well bred and will make a wonderful sports horse.

Question for horse people: when will rising star and the other two year olds, start to learn to wear a saddle? At what age do they start being ridden? Beautiful horses & people.

Your channel was in my KZbin feed for the first time. We have a Cane Corso dog. That's an Italian Mastiff and her name is Daisy. She's gray with light amber eyes. 130 pounds at 2 years old. I love horses and the first one I watched was when U lost her baby and she and Rising Star took to each other. Beautiful story! Just put U bc I cannot remember how to spell her name. I'm 79 and this happens often. 😂. After I watch a few more, I'll remember their names.

When you said they have water in their stall as RS and Pieter were drinking so much from the outside bucket made me think when my oldest daughter was still a toddler and she went through a phase where she only wanted to drink water from the tap in the bathroom instead of drinking water from the kitchen tap. I kept telling her it is the same water but she would say ("No no, not same, it better") lol kids.

@@joycecreceliusUtube The water in the bathroom here is closer to the source feed. It's colder in a flash. You have to run it quite a while in the kitchen for it to run cold. It's the same every house I've lived in.

WOW that is one HUGE CALF, a bull calf perhaps? Appears to be much larger than the Friesian foals. I realize time does not stand still, but your boys have grown like weeds, very handsome little boys! Most horses start their training at around age 3 or even age 4. Here in the U.S., some people start them at age 2 (race horses), but their bones are not quite mature at 2, and I've always disagreed with starting them that early.

Spidey's markings are so adorable. I think it the first time I have seen one of the Friesen roll in the sand. Your doing a great job, it will help with your rehab. I hope this isn't out of line but can you remember your accident and what happened? I wouldn't be surprised if you don't, injury to the most fragile organ the brain is scary. Not even sure it's called an organ. I have a calcified meningioma on my brain but at present I am not having any issues with symptoms. It's still scary knowing I have a brain tumour, I've lived with it for twelve year that I have actually known it's there. My husband delights in saying I have rocks in my brain, ha ha.

What you don’t see. After the calf has had its colostrum it’s whisked away, never to be seen by its mother again. Unless this farm is one of the rare more humane dairy farms where the calfs stay with their mothers until they’re weened.
