It’s great to see how the mares obviously appreciate a warm clean bed like we do. I love watching how they take their time to sort out who goes where. It’s a rare thing in Australia ( because of our climate) to see horses stabled daily like this. I find it fascinating-such a pleasure to watch the daily activity of a beautiful breeding stable. Your horses are treated with such respect and love.

They are only brought in when the weather is really wet, then they will tear up the grass, leaving no fodder, after winter... Otherwise, they are in the pasture every night! It is a great place to be a horse!

I love how they sort themselves into the stables. It is great to see animals of all sorts sometimes be given the space and time to think and make decisions for themselves, with calm and kind human guidance only when required! These are such large and spacious stalls. Such good care and living arrangements they have. I love to see it.

Do you know how old Klaske is? Interesting that the little stallion Johnny is making so much more of a fuss than the larger Klaske. I’m guessing that hierarchy is based on many complex things not just stature. I would love to understand more if anyone is able to explain. Thank you.

Oooo the satisfaction of perfect lovely beds I remember this feeling so well. I also recall the smell of soaking sugar beet and hay bought in from the July cut of fields. 1000 lovely fresh bales piled up all ready for the winter months (we had 5 horses at one point).
