My favorite detail of the whole fight is that Megatron poetically taunting him wasn't just in-character, it was specifically to distract him while he pulled in more antimatter. Megatron is smart, knows he's outclassed, but paid attention to how Freiza toyed with him and even commented on "oh I love it when they monologue back" at the start of the fight. Hence "Die a fool's death". He's not just insulting him, he's specifically making fun of him for listening to his bait.

Yeah I loved it. I get where Nux is coming from but Death Battle has to make it entertaining so of course they won't make it a stomp, unless it's a DB where it being a stomp wouldn't upset anyone (Homelander Vs. Omni-Man). Of course they're gonna make it epic and just overall fun to watch, and it REALLY was. This was prob one of the best Death Battles ever, imo. Megatron's roast near the end was so fucking fire ngl.

Another one of Death Battle’s Pyrrhic Victories. Megatron knew he wasn’t gonna win so he made sure Frieza’s win meant absolutely nothing after he got him pissed enough to go to Black Form. Frieza won but at what cost? 1. Cybertron is destroyed, so he can’t colonize the planet 2. His mothership and most of his army are gone so there goes his ticket home. 3. More than half his body is gone so he’s left stranded till a search party comes looking for him and put him in a healing pod for awhile 4. He gained a new hate crime after his ego was scarred. Despite killing Megatron, he will always remember the humiliation he endured by that mechanical monkey. In the end, despite the victory, Frieza left the battle humiliated, pissed, and a grown hatred for another race besides Saiyans

Freeza chose to destroy Cybertron and could have chosen not to. Freeza let his army be destroyed. He can regenerate via a healing pod. He's far beyond the level of Gas who could fly through numerous star systems (galaxies even) in just 20 minutes and Freeza has undergone numerous battles at this point where he's lost, Megatron harming him means fuckall. When I heard Megatron ranting on about that and Freeza getting pissy it left me baffled because all of that shit is a non-issue to him and he already won the fight. Megatron failed to do anything to him at that point so him coping over his dying world and inevitable demise would just make Freeza laugh. It's essentially just them trying to brainlessly toss a bone to Transformers fans...when it makes zero sense whatsoever.

Regarding Megatron's scaling I feel like they undersold just how stupid op Megatron would have to be to defeat the Deceptigod. The Deceptigod was powered by the entire Dead Universe, not only is that actually dozens of Universes fused into a singular Dead Universe but other characters who used the Dead Universe as a power source like Shockwave became so powerful that he could compress the infinite Transformers Multiverse into a singular Universe. Thats a level of power well beyond Mainline Frezia. Even if Megatron is ultimately weaker than Regenesis Shockwave he was still powerful enough to hold his own, as was Megatron's rival Optimus Prime.

Yeah, my only problem in this fight was that they used G1 Megatron and little bits from IDW to make him at least a little bit more impressive, and not just entirely IDW Megs. I mean it won't even be the first time they used the same character from different continuity. They had OG game Sonic and Archie Sonic as different combatants. Now I'm not saying it would've been an absolute stomp for Megs but from what I've seen of the IDW Transformers comics it would've been very close, like, I'd actually be curious as to who'd win, instead of this where we all knew exactly how'd it end. 'Dozens of universes' is a bit irrelevant when they have SSG Goku at 13x Universal at the start of Super (which is easily over 650x in Blue) and when they suddenly claimed macrocosm busting is actually 1,500x universal and they even claim DB universes could be infinite. So the main thing there is the whole 'infinite multiverse' statement. So is that statement really true? I don't know. To my understanding Shockwave let Optimus and Megatron beat him. So can Megatron realistically scale to that? I'm not so sure. Either way if they're willing to use SDBH for Goku vs Superman they should use SDBH for Freeza vs Megatron if they start considering infinite multiverse scaling. Which would make Freeza stomp. The real key to Megatron winning is via Alternity. That one is interesting because technically SDBH Freeza should be capable of collapsing infinite timelines via scaling but Alternity Megatron is supposedly 10th-dimensional. So from there it depends on how you interpret dimensions in DB because it's far more complex than most think it is. Acting like Heroes scaling would apply to Frezia is like trying to use Archie Feats for Sonic vs Mario, it's a completely different continuity. As for the size of the Dead Universe I only brought it up to highlight just how much they were underselling the scale of the Dead Universe and the power it holds. And finally whether or not Optimus or Megatron scale to the Dead Universe, not only did Megatron outright defeat the Deceptigod who was just as powerful as Regenesis Shockwave but the fact that Regenesis Shockwave had to put in actual effort to fight Megatron and Optimus is strong evidence that they scale to him fairly well.

Nova Prime only said that "all universes will become one". Not only was he crazy at this point and being manipulated by Shockwave, but as far as we know with certainty, he only was aware of the existence of 3 universes (the living universe, the Dead Universe and Infraspace). Even if that was still the case, that this was gonna be a multiversal event, they defeated Shockwave before he had the chance to perform the merging.

Let's say Megatron was lowballed and that it was a much stronger feat (tho i dunno where you're pulling infinite from, but whatever) Guess what calc was ready to go but wasn't used to make this episode seem closer than it already was. That's right! The fact that the Dragon Ball universe is 1500 times bigger than our own! They used that calc for the first time in Goku vs Superman 2023, but during the Q&A about that episode they admitted that calc was made around the time they were researching Frieza vs Megatron, but they deemed it unnecessary so they went with just 13 times our universe. And that's just for SSJ God Goku/Base Goku after he absorbs the power of SSJ God. If anything, Frieza was HEAVILY lowballed lmao

It would be possible if Megatron can naturally upgrade himself into Galvatron. However depending on the continuity, there were multiple factors to his upgrade. Rebuilt by Unicron, the Black Pyramid and the Orb of Sigma, the Minicons, Super Energon, accessing Primus's spark energy through the Omega Lock and combining it with the Armor of Unicron. This is precisely why I recommended Frieza to fight Cybertron Megatron, since he is the closest alignment to Frieza's, who is PURE Chaotic Evil.

Yep, wouldn't be surprised if it was because of the color scheme, but to be honest, I had NO idea Megatron had golden and black forms, but all I ever really knew about him was from the cartoon. Honestly one of megatrons feats wasn’t really given enough attention or consideration. Its the feat where megatron managed to hold his own against a transformer god powered by an amalgamation of dead universes. They mentioned it in passing but they didn’t really do anything with that information. To be fair I still think megatron loses but i honestly think that’s one of megatrons greatest feats and it is kinda just mentioned then ignored.

I like how after the tournament of power, Frieza didn’t try to usurp Beerus, or Wiess, or any of the other higher gods and angles. He’s overlord of the most of his universe, but he knows his place. I mean, Goku killing him on Namek, and then him dying to Trunks probably touaght him not to overstep and get too greedy. Because now, there’s at least a dozen people in his universe that could kill him for going too far. And by the end of TOP, he’s content being ruler of most of the universe. The guy probably doesn’t want to go back to hell either. It’s kind of refreshing, because narcissistic tyrants like Frieza would try and take more than he has. But after what he’s gone through, he knows better to limit his reach and show a little restraint. Goku changed Frieza too. At least, how he thinks and fights. I dare say he even likes Goku, seeing him as a worthy adversary.

Honestly from what I gather from this Death Battle, you could get Frieza trapped in the Panic Bubble and use Anti-Matter and I think Megatron could have an instant K.O. Otherwise Frieza would probably one shot Megatron most of the time otherwise.

Frieza has a ton of awful matchups where he either stomps or gets stomped and none are really super themeatic. I think negation has a similar issue, so back before golden frieza this was like their one good one but Megatron had a ton of comic feats that scaled above that. Then golden frieza happened and people just assumed it was now equalish and then black frieza kinda killed the debate

I like our death battle completely missed the feat where Megatron was on par with a being who is higher dimensional, and has the power of infinite universe is because that’s how big the Transformers universe is. similar to how Dragonballs multiple universes are not one universe each. They’re of about nine universes so yeah Death Battle did great research for transformers.

This is up there in terms of one sided death battles. I tried keeping an open mind since I've never read any transformers comics, and death battle has proven before that comic feats like from marvel and DC are insane, but ultimately it really went how I expected.

They could have gone a lot more extreme for some of Megatron's comic feats, but most of them need a lot of explanation (like beating a 17-dimensional, multiverse destroying God or having teleportation tech integrated into his body so thoroughly that when someone tries to punch him he teleports their arm into a black hole.)

Frieza may have exploded planets but unless the later manga shows different, I don't remember having many abilities besides telepathy, ki blast, and punching, and there's like tons of transformers source material, I'm pretty sure Megatron had to be a god at one point Edit: yeah, no, I didn't think they were gonna include the newer manga, my bad

I will say, if you’ve actually read IDW comics, Frieza didn’t have a chance here. They had to exclude or alter a LOT in order to make Megatron look as weak as he was. Taking down Regenesis Shockwave, who was in the process of collapsing the entire multiverse (and succeeded by the way, the entire cosmos was destroyed when he fell and he had to go back to the beginning of time to restart the multiverse from scratch) by itself was a feat greater than anything Frieza has ever demonstrated. I would like to restate this: IDW Megatron fought an opponent with the full unrestrained power of time, space, and CONCEPTION across the infinite multiverse and WON. Make no mistake, this outcome was 100% out of pure bias from people who clearly love dragon ball much more (and likely it was to help deflect from the fact that no one in dragon ball has won on death battle).

With this match up for some time, people were undecided on who would be a perfect match up for frieza, it was undecided for so long that some people said screw it megatron because theyre both the biggest tyrants in fiction history, frieza for anime and megatron for cartoons, from there people would recommend it for Death Battle for some time and here we are now

You can kinda work out one for SSJ God, bridging the gap between galaxy level and universal. I ended up win the 10^27 magnitude and that’s assuming universe 7 is the size of one observable universe, and we know it’s way bigger. Blue is 50x SS God but after Blue Kaioken we’re back to guessing
