The older I get, the more I appreciate the practical special effects and clever editing helps sell the effects of melting wax and plastic.

I totally agree Michael McIntyre. The Special Effects then had excellent puppetry like in Tales From The Crypt or used 3D Props for more enhancements like Star Wars and Alien.

It was the crucifix. Charley's faith made him bounce. He was afraid of Peter's potential, too, which is why he was spying on them from the window and looking at Peter's weapons in his case.

Personally I think that Billy was a normal human being up until 0:27 when Jerry stared intently at his fresh corpse with glowing red eyes. The writers just decided to invent a new power called "Re-animate a fresh corpse to do your bidding just by staring at it" specially for Jerry.

According to the movie makers, he's a corpse who Jerry animated to create a servant. In other words, a kind of zombie, albeit the necromancer kind, not the Romero kind. It's interesting because it implies mysteries in that universe that the characters in the universe will never know. Like they'll never know that Dandridge was a necromancer on top of everything else.
