One of my favorite strips to hunt, I've camped at the second camp. Looks like you took the hard way up for sure, but very typical for that place.... you earn every inch. Congrats on two nice bucks. Always a fun ride in and out too.

I grew up hunting the frank. only place I hunt every year. it's changed a lot over the years. most of it is burned now. I remember in the 90's it was amazing elk and deer hunting. pre wolves...

Man, that was some cool stuff... typical for the area, work your butt off.. but it's the whole experience that's the trophy..good work guys! And great footage. I was so confused after that shot was low, I was wondering if you would take the second shot or not but glad you did.

I think on the first shot on the second deer, you hit something close to you. I saw what looked like part of a tree limb or something fly into camera view on the shot.
@InclineOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yeah we have seen that in the video too. It’s possible. It’s tough to say though. The radial muzzle brake on that rifle makes for quite the little explosion of debris when you are shooting prone, so it’s difficult to know for sure. But It sure seems I had to have hit something to be that far off.

@@jakeoly5109any luck going later in the year to the Selway? I am headed there this year
@jakeoly510926 күн бұрын
@@SchylerGorman actually, sadly I never made it down there this year. Got caught up in a career change that kept my hunting local. Had a buddy go down there and said he saw a ton of wolf tracks(filled a wolf tag) but nothing much for elk. Plenty of does off of the main roads but decent bucks will probably require some hiking.
@jakeoly510926 күн бұрын
@@SchylerGorman good luck to you as you go down there. Im hoping to get a week or two down there in 2025 now that everything career wise has settled down.

Looks like that miss on the second deer did indeed hit something. You can see debris flying through the camera view.
@InclineOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Yeah, that's the conclusion we have come to as well.
@ktmkaratechips Жыл бұрын
The first shot on the second buck got deflected closer to the muzzle for sure. I hunted out of that strip for elk in ‘20. I did see but one doe in 8 days. Did you guys end up real far from the strip? I was about 3 miles from it at the most
@InclineOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Definitely had a rock solid rest, so it had to be something. It was a great place! We only saw the one herd of elk, and it took a couple days to find the areas that held a few deer/bucks. We were never super far from the strip as the crow flies, but obviously in that country it’s tough going to put a lot of miles in. Were you successful on your elk hunt?
@ktmkaratechips Жыл бұрын
@@InclineOutdoors yeah you can see debris fly up in the foreground. I was solo and had aspirations of going way deeper but that place kicked my butt. Very steep and rough ground. I was successful and shot the only bull I saw that week. Watching your vid brought back all the memories lol. Hard hard pack out. Good work in there. I can appreciate the work that the camera doesn’t do justice!

@InclineOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Cost depends on where you are going. If you split it with a buddy it will end up being $400-$700 each. The plane has an hourly rate they charge. I think it’s around $550/hr

How do you pack out all the meat, rack when it looks like you’re already full of gear?
@InclineOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Meat is boned out and goes in a large game bag that fits between the pack and frame. We came in weighing about 60 lbs each. Ate most all the food we came in with and didn’t take much water down. Don’t know exactly what the packs weighed coming out but it was very heavy. Probably 110-120 lbs.
