I replaced my board with a manual universal freezer thermostat, and a defrost timer . The wiring diagrams can be found on the net. This all cost $25. Dollars now I can adjust temp manually.

Hi. Will you provide the part numbers of the thermostat and defroster you purchased, and where you purchased? Thanks

Heya! I saved my broken control panel. I know this is a weird question but any chance you'd like to try to fix it? 😅

The "door ajar" beeper on my Kenmore upright freezer kept going off, even though the door was closed. To make a long story short, I ended up replacing both the door switch and the control board. The beeping stopped for a few days, but it started again today. Could there be a problem with the wiring between the switch and the control board? Also, the light stays on even when the door switch is depressed. Do you have any ideas about how to fix it? Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. Did you fix yours yet? Might be worth making a video, as these boards appear to fail often. Did anyone determine how to pull out the panel without breaking all of the tabs?

@@nickydoes I haven't had a problem with it since the day I posted that question. I think I may have taken the panel out and reseated it, but I don't really remember. I removed the panel by carefully prying it loose with a putty knife. I put some tape around it to keep from scratching the paint. Thankfully, there aren't any wires to mess with. It just plugs in. I noticed that when I put the new panel in, it automatically displayed the same setting the old one displayed. That may mean you can just remove the panel if the beeping is annoying the hell out of you.

Curious how long your freezer was off and stayed under 30°

Probably about 2 days when full of food and in our heated basement. After that, we put the food in coolers with dry ice in the shed outside on the north side of the house. I think it was in November.

@arrowpig1996 thank you so much for your prompt reply! The part for ours should be here today. Single mama who just filled her freezer with Thanksgiving dinner+. That was 2 days ago. I keep ours at-6°. I did open it at first when trying to reset it. I covered it in blankets yesterday and boxes and opened the window to cool that area while closing it off to the rest of the house, so fingers crossed 🤞
