We just fixed the stove with F11 error code with the tip of this video. Thank you very much.

Just fixed my stove doing it. I have older model and it has physical clicky buttons. Peeling off plastic from the front did not give me access to buttons. Had to remove the board from plastic case to get to buttons. But then did the same thing, cleaned everything and now it works :) Thank you

When this first happened with ours, a few power cycles didn't solve the problem (F11 error would return after about a minute) but after being unplugged for a few months (making do without a functioning oven, using a lighter to ignite our gas burners) the problem cleared itself up. I cleaned it for good measure anyway, following your directions.

That is fascinating, I probably won’t sleep tonight trying to come up with a plausible theory for why that should be. One thing is certain, something is going on with these membrane electronic switches that manufacturers either are unaware of, (when I’m feeling optimistic), or deliberately covering up.(sadly history suggests the latter will be true). Thanks for the additional data. I continue to have perfect functionality, and now it’s a challenge for us just to see how long it goes before reoccurrence.

My comment days "5 days ago". I kinda thought the problem would return (if course, it still may; as a PC tech, these kinds of problems rarely clear up on their own) but, so far we're still good.

I've now moved but after over a year (I think it was around 18 months), this problem never did come back.

Thanks very much for your video. I had the F11 code and followed your instructions which were quite easy. I am happy to report that my stove is now working again and I was able to save $$$. The best to you in 2021.

I'm happy others are able to benefit. My expectation is that the membrane itself is breaking down; because I just cannot make sense of the outside contamination getting in scenerio. So I do expect that sooner or later, it will happen again.

This has worked so far ! I'll just say be careful when you peel it apart so as to not wreck the circuits or pull them apart. Thank you for the idea ! AWSOME!

Agreed on the 'careful' caution Angela, I'm rather certain the manufacturer didn't intend for us to act so... ...proactively.

That is excellent, I'm please, perhaps even surprised to report, our stove continues to work perfectly... no matter what now, I've gained three years service on that asset, that's a win!

This worked and fixed mine as well. Thanks for this video

The good news is that mine continues to work, it will be interesting to see how long it will go before the pattern repeats.

Could a tenant deliberately cause the F11 error to go off by steaming boiling water by the control panel? Or could the F11 error have been caused by an angry tenant?
@pete-reier2 жыл бұрын
I can't say that could not happen, but it does seem unlikely. There are so many examples of this particular failure it seems reasonable to assume that the design flaw is the cause, the angry tenant is most likely coincidental.
@user-ew3sb8lu7d2 жыл бұрын
@@pete-reier thank you for the heads up I was going to charge the tenant for the damage. Thanks
@curtrich3476 Жыл бұрын
Even if that was the case, you would think that a stove could handle boiling water steam near the panel, considering that dang thing is supposed to be designed to function within thise parameters in play. Dont blame the user, blame the manufacturer forna shotty product!

Hi from northern california can you tell me why im getting a high pulsing emf reading from this computer board on my frigidaire gallery stove.

I've no idea... maybe it's normal, checking for EMF output never crossed my mind.

My oven is in the cabinet structure. I have no idea where it's even plugged. I don't see any access. I had to shut off the circuit breaker. But can't access to peel and clean
@pete-reier2 жыл бұрын
Typically built in appliances are inserted into the build, as opposed to being built around, so there should be some way to slide the oven out of the cabinet. There will probably be a couple of not very obvious screws that keep it solid in the space. There is no way to remove the module through the front.
@boreduser122 жыл бұрын
@@pete-reier thanks. Got it off. It was not easy. Lots of glue. On a button I see u shaped white stuff. It's not coming off. I think it's corroded from the inside or underneath. I think the translucent panels going across buttons is what corroded and that appears to be underneath. So it's not cleaning off with alcohol.
@metadadda3 жыл бұрын
We definitely have this issue, but I'm not sure how to actually remove the panel, since it's a slide in and the display is in the front of the stove. Most KZbins show the panel in the back of the stove, it would be difficult for us given we have the stove within the island. Is there a way to remove the display panel from the front of the stove (if applicable?)
@pete-reier3 жыл бұрын
Not without destroying something; I mean, you could possibly go all Frankenstein and open up the front bezel... and maybe an accomplished tin basher could pull that off with a minimum of disaster, to attempt the repair with the panel still in place... but I wouldn't predict great results, you really want to have this thing on the table in front of you when you peal the film -- they really never intended us to be repairing the panel. Of note... if you were to follow their advice and order up the new controller... you would still need to pull the unit out to work on it. Stoves, appliances in general, require rear access for servicing. (To the limited extent that there is any intention of servicing in this age of planned obsolescence.)

I also wish to modify my evaluation that somehow material and or moisture are getting in under the membrane... after a longer look into similar failure in this type of switch gear I suspect that what we are looking at is the membrane material itself breaking down over time. Exposure to heat and light are never huge helpers in the plastics longevity game.

Stove continues to work, so far no repeat has been required.
